  • We're kidding Ourselves

We're kidding ourselves if we think we can will all games into the finals and the GF. That would have been 14 wins. Unheard off and especially for a young team like ours. Like Smith said, the distraction of this week, though having it's PR merits, may have unsettled the rhythm of the team. I don't see this as the 'Loss we had to have' but more of a reality check that not all teams will fall by the wayside like Parra did last week. Good learning curve for all and let's get back to the winners podium next week. I have all the confidence that we will not only make the finals but even up to the semi if not greater.

    C'mon!!!

I certainly wasn't expecting to win every remaining games. I was absolutely positive yesterday's game would be our speed hump and there it is.

Now we've got some teams we've struggled to beat, Sharks, Cowboys etc, coming up and these are games we need to win. No complacency, no arrogance, just wins.

I had a feeling the merge scum would get the better of the Roosters yesterday but that doesn't make it any easier to take. Given the way the titans are playing and the way the Roosters played yesterday may see the Roosters get another reality check which should see them grounded heading into the last two rounds and more than likely into the finals. Now that the "maths" around wins/losses has been corrected, I can relax about the winning streak coming to an end. Lastly, there's the issue of injuries which have come at the wrong time. Mixed bag all of this is to my mind.

We didn't struggle against the Sharks or Cowboys...we just didn't turn up. It's a different approach now so I'm sure that we'll be more focused. It could be that we cannot win as locals since our most memorable wins have been as the away team.

          Bulldogs and Souths at home?

You're right though, we definitely didn't turn up to play on those two occasions against Nth Qld and the Sharks. God I hope they turn up to Shark Park, Toyota Stadium, whatever the **** they're calling it these days, determined to win.

And Western Suburbs and Brisbane in rounds 2 and 4.

It's definitely not a home/away thing; the current team has just improved hugely in terms of concentration and commitment.

A win against Cronulla is imperative. I'm more nervous about this game than the St George game. A good win, and we're back on track.

I am going to safely assume that Brian Smith will not countenance a loss against Cronulla. For the want of a knocked down pass, the Chooks could have beaten the comp leaders. The Warriors thrashed the Sharks on the weekend, I suspect that the Roosters will do the same.
