ON WEEKENDS, Sydney Roosters giant Mose Masoe crunches opponents. During the week, he crunches the numbers.
The Daily Telegraph yesterday caught up with Masoe, pronounced Mar-soy, working as an assistant accountant at Trackmaster Factory Outlet in Alexandria.
Masoe, 21, works two days a week with Trackmaster, a Sydney Roosters sponsor, while completing a chartered accountancy course at Randwick TAFE.
"I help with spreadsheets and budget sheets. At this time, the end of the financial year, I am also doing forecasts," said Masoe, preparing for Sunday's big match against St George Illawarra at the SCG.
"I was good at numbers at school. I wanted a job in accountancy. I work a few days a week to stay on top of it. I got a few injuries last year and I realised that a footy career could be over tomorrow."

On the field, Masoe has been a revelation. He is big, strong and intimidating.
Masoe is part of a robust Roosters pack that is allowing their halves, Mitchell Pearce and Todd Carney, to run riot in recent weeks.
Anticipation is building for what should be a rugby league ripper at the SCG this Sunday afternoon.
"It's going to be one hell of a day," Masoe told The Daily Telegraph. "Historically, all the legends will be there [from the Roosters' Hall of Fame announcement on Thursday night] and we all want to please them."
Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce praised Masoe's decision to work outside of rugby league.
"It's smart," Noyce said. "Mose is part of the new breed that understands the need to take up opportunities outside of football.
"Mose is a quiet kid. He has had some bad injuries in recent years but is thriving under the club's 'new attitude, new beginning' motto."
