Smith has always been a coach that liked to tinker with his team constantly so he had a squad that was very versatile and able to handle a bad run of injuries, he has already rested some of the younger players this season and has keep the likes of Pearce/Myles/Anasta on the sidelines when they were carrying a few niggles.

in terms of needing a loss it certainly wouldn't be the worst thing to happen before the finals to keep the boys focused on the main prize.

I tend to think the playing style we are currently employing of all out attack will be the cause of our next loss, we will have a game where our lack of respect for the football will come back to bite us.

As previously has been stated, the need of a loss is a myth. You can still not play too 100% and win, its ridiculous any fan in their right mind would be gunning for a loss, especially with such a young team that is obviously thriving with confidence. We will have a bad game between now and the semi's, but to say we NEED a loss is nonsense.

I don't want to see us lose any remaining games but surely this bliss is only temporary?

I'm sure that our overall defense as been the problem and not just one player or one side during the year.
It is no secret that Perrett and SKD often get it wrong coming in off their man when they shouldn't and vice-versa. Saints have Morris' speed and Soward's kicking game to test them out.

No not really... in an ideal world I'd like us to win every remaining game this season in addition to the finals.

weve certainly found ambition again this season, just take a moment and think back to how you were feeling this time last season?

How many teams win 13 games in succession? It happens once every decade or so.

                  I don't like those odds.

I'm much more comfortable with winning six or seven in a row, losing one, then going on another streak. That happens much more often.

If there was nothing to gain from winning against the Cowboys I would rest a few of the key players ( Ryles, Carney, Anasta, Perret and Mini ). All of these players have played the majority of the season.

Thats it Tom. Its about the need to lose, have a reality check, and get stuck back in again. 13 wins in a row, just will not happen.

I tend to agree its a bit of a myth, having to lose a game.

In a sense though there is a certain inevitability that a team will lose a game, you just have to move on from it and try and make sure its not in the finals, esp the GF.

A smart coach will every result to improve his team, win or loss
