''The videotape operator didn't make that final angle available until after the decision had been made,'' Annesley said. ''Obviously he didn't do it deliberately. It has happened before but it doesn't happen very often thankfully.''
Obviously these guys have all lost touch with reality. Like these video guys had no idea there was another angle, and no communication exists between them and the video ref

Given that rulings during a game are reliant on having access to all camera angles, the process needs to managed by Finch and co - not just left to the whims of an under pressure video editor. Finch and his team should either run the replays that are given to the video ref themselves, or at the very least have someone sitting alongside the video editor making sure all angles are made available

            currently, it's amateur hour

The video ref must ask for all angles from all the best positioned cameras before he makes a decision. He might have access to 4 camera angles for the southern end for example. Look at the all and then make a decision

TOK I agree - it's incomprehensible that they were not aware of this angle prior to kick off. How is the video ref/ NRL can not be made aware of every camera's location prior to kick off and know in advance of what angles they can request is very very amatuerish - and if so, it's worse that the vid ref did not request for that angle before making his decision. The game has become a farce.

Correct me if i'm wrong. There are 2 cameras (one each side of the field) near the in goal. There is another camera that moves up & down the sideline. There is a camera on each side of halfway.

Thats 5 angles. Thats the minumum to look at. Footage from each should/must always be available to the vidiot.

I dont care that it might take 60-90 secs. GET IT RIGHT FFS!

Nothing is ever going to be 100% perfect but with all the advances in technology over the years, there's no room for amateur screw-ups like the incident on Friday night.

They're just lucky it didn't cost us the game but it's still not acceptable.

I wouldn't be able to say for sure that they truly knew there was another angle.. but did they stuff up? of course they did
