  • Roosters v Canberra Official thread

The twenties just put in a splendid performance in the second half against Canberra. Fantastic defensive effort.

Canberra played the entire first half in our twenty, but inspirational defence did not allow them to get on top. They must of been held up over the line 5 times.

Brunton is a class above most players in this league. Worked his ass off in defence. Great leadership performance. Will be a great player if we give him time to continue developing.

Lou Goodwin is a name I'm not familiar with, but this kid looks like a fantastic prospect. Man of the match easily, which is a feat considering how well Brunton played.

Miller Picked his moments today and with the limited touches he showed why people have big wraps on him. Great ballplayer. The try he scored was one of a kind. Stepped of bothe feet to beat the defender and covering defender.

Others had their moments but overall the team was poor until we got on a roll. Considering the result, we did well. Despite the score, Canberra were never in it.

Special mention to Littlejohn who had to play fullback because of team changes. Was outstanding at the back in offence and defence.

    Bring on the game!

    Nice summation

I agree Lou Goodwin looks the goods from the little bit I saw of him in an earlier match and todays effort in the starting lineup(son of former Penrith stalwart Matt Goodwin). Also impressed with the little winger on debut Manton a few mistakes early but really played well after that(running out of dummy half reminded of Perrett).

Sounds good, but not happy about letting the lead slip like it did......They let in a few too many tires....

I want a 30 point lead before I am confident in FG, especially after last weeks effort...

      Bring it on boys......

      ROOSTERS....

I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that. He was average at best.

Lowe/Goodwin/Brunton deserved it so much more.

Lowe was great, but only turned it on when we had momentum. The other two stood up when Canberra was belting us.

Agree with those except Leolahi. He turned it on late in the match but jeez he made some ordinary errors and misses in defence.

                      The boys look pretty relaxed.

It means that either: 1)they will pile on the points 2)get creamed.

Nooooo, Cummins has replaced one of the refs thanks to a knee injury. God dammit.
