  • Ref decisions tonight

I'm not looking to blame the refs, I think we did enough to beat ourselves.

    But.

Can someone explain to me two penalties?

    1) where Gallen pushed FPN away

    2) where Sharks offloaded, JWH knocked it back. Then the Sharks player got it back, lost it, FPN picks it up and gets penalised

just trying to understand why the penalties were given

I'd rather aske why they bombed 3 tries that shouldve been scored

BigMike, I also am not trying to blame the refs either but here's my 2c:

      1) I don't get that either - FPN was NOT the aggressor in that situation
      2) FPN was deemed offside

Now, I'd like to make some observations and ask a few questions:

      1) The guppies were continually offside when defending thus giving the heartless Roosters no room to move
      2) Adding to the short 10 for the guppies, they were allowed to significantly slow down the hopeless Roosters play the ball
      3) Even though the penalty count ended up even, most of the insipid Roosters' penalties came late in the match and they had effectively given up by then
      4) From regular Sunday afternoon matches, the inconsistent Roosters now seem to play every other Monday night - is this payback?
      5) Why did Myles spend most of the match on the sidelines?
      6) What is wrong with Carney?
      7) Why do the "somebody else will tackle that guppy number 1" Roosters look so unfit?

I am sick to the back teeth of the up and down nature of this team. I can handle losing but I can't handle not trying.

I thought they NRL did away from the 2 refs controlling the game to having the senior ref control the game and the junior sit in the pocket

We had Cummins and his side kick interchange throughout the game. No consistency in the 10 and the play the balls. Cronulla were allowed to lie all over us which suited their style of play

That was definitely the end of the game for us. I was sitting pretty much in line with it and it did look forward in real time but the replay looked like it was OK.

Still, if you have to rely on the 50/50s to beat the bottom ranked team at home then you probably don't deserve them.

you could look at it this way Ticket,

the bottom placed team had to rely on the glut of 50 /50 calls to beat the roosters.

and lonerooster, you point number 3, you are right, it took 30 minutes for the roosters to gain a penalty of any sort. By that time we were already on the ropes.

i guess thats where the mental toughness aspect come into it.

TLR, on the second penalty, was the offside referring to the ten metres?

It couldn't of been, it took him ages to blow the whistle and he only did it when FPN ended up with the ball.

You would have noted that the penalties were well in favour of the Sharks at half time.
It was only late in the game that the ref balanced the ledger, by that time it was to late for the Roosters who were out of gas.

The ten metres was a joke as well, that allows the defence to dominate, and that is why the Sharks played all over the Roosters.

I will ask another one that was missed. Why were the Sharks allowed to take 2 or 3 steps forward after most tackles and thus putting our markers out of play as a result?

                      There were many baffling decisions.

But the most baffling of all is how our players can get paid after regular performances like last night. They call themselves professionals too

I noticed a couple of things. The Sharks barely put a foot on the ball in the play the ball. They were getting a good roll on picking up a bit of speed.

Secondly, what ever happened to a flop being called? It's something I've noticed increasing throughout this year.

In years gone by those sorts of penalties saw us being whistled off the park, and now they seem to be ignored.

                          Anyone else seen this?

Oh, that's still no excuse for the inept, inconsistent performances I have seen from the clowns
