that means big dollars for that one year deal.
A deal that should never have tabled in the first place.
Trew with respect I think your moving the goalpost to go from your statement of "keep resigning" to a one year incentive based deal isn't exactly what I would call "big dollars"

The club took a punt on a club legend and no doubt Mini could have left for much more money overseas but I honestly believe he was trying to repay the debt of 3 years of nothing. In a season where almost every senior player had moved on IMO it was a risk worth taking.

I am no Doctor and don't claim to know anything about his ongoing conditional but I can see what both the club and Mini were trying to achieve. I am still not prepared to write him off and I honestly believe he will add value in the remainder of the season.

To say he is playing bad is one thing, to actually say Mini is robbing us is just insulting to a great player Fred

Mate to be honest, I respect your opinion.

I feel quite strongly that us a club have made some really poor decisions based on so called loyalty from past glories at our club and the bulldogs.

        Freddy as coach
Fitzy staying on a year too long
        Mini another year
The Mark O mealy pension fund
        The Willie Mason debarcle.

          And keep resigning,......

          agreed that wasnt accurate.
But I would have heaved him after the second operation and freed up cap room.

It's a complete fallacy to say that mini is repaying the clubs loyalty this year. If he really wanted to "repay" the clubs loyalty then he should have offered to play for the bare minimum this year considering that he got paid mega bucks for 4 years while he sat in the stands with the rest of us. Did he do that? No, he only signed because he stood to get well paid this year if he managed to stay injury free. That is hardly "repaying" the club. He is in fact taking up big cap space, hush like his mate anasta.

He hasn't performed for over 5 years. Hardly the stuff that makes a legend

Your examples are all valid, it's been a shitty few years.....all started really when Mini got injured really. I have the feeling you might know a little bit more than i do when it comes to mini and his back but I guess based on his standing and past efforts I was prepared to give him a shot.

Fred I like your point of view generally you take the emotion out of things but I really think your out of line here the guy was the best player in the game until injured.

Your a long time retired in this sport and a limited playing career - Mini was fair IMO taking an incentive based contract

The club owed Mini, the last 4 seasons they repaid that in full and some, Mini unlike other legends of the game, knew when to stop, no matter what he or his doctors say, his back is still causing problems, maybe not in the physical sense but mentally.

He backs out of tackles, he stops before the line, if mini is to play out the season his only option should be the wing, having him chiming in to backline moves, being a link is a waste of time, for all of Minis qualities in his hay day Passing was not one of them.

The took a massive gamble( much like backing Burley Griffen)it hasnt paid off and i highly doubt it will.

IMO it is dropped or a wing spot for Mini.

Yes, I agree. How dare he take what was offered? What a leach. if only he could be like the rest of us and refuse what is offered as it is far to generous and you couldn't possibly accept such an offer. He is ruining all our hopes and aspirations for the team to perform. Did he think of that? It sure does not look like it. I have a good mind to tell him too when I see him....

he is entitled to get paid whatever is offered to him.

but dont give me this rubbish that he is doing us a favour because he feels he owes us. he is looking after himself which he is entitled to do. 99.99% of league players are selfish scumbags, anyone who thinks differently has rocks in their heads.

Shit Fred you been on the lemon juice mate???

                        Thats bitter even for you.

I do agree Mini would be looking out for himself. But his ego wouldve played a part I reckon. They all think they are supermen and can overcome any injury. Very few players retire when they should. I reckon Mini thought hed be sweet, well kidded himself, I reckon hed be realising now how far behind the game he is now.

Shame he looks like hes gonna do the Ali ending.

I've become sick of this fumbling bumbling waste if cap space called mini laughing and smiling at end of our losses.

As for anasta, yes nice guy, tries hard. But in footy - whenever anyone uses those expressions to defend a player - it usually always means there's nothing to actually say about his footy skills because he's a dud of highest degree
