If and IF Gasnier ever signs with the easts, wouldn't it be a short term solution? He would be pretty old now and would demand a high salary, heck, he might even struggle to keep up with the pace of NRL these days. We should be aiming to build for the future this season and see wether or not we have real talent in the ranks. We're not going to win the premiership with stop gap solutions, IMO time and time again a Premiership side is a side that can recruit and retain the nucleus of the team ie the half,five eight, hooker,fullback for a long period of time. If we are to spend money, it should be spent recruiting and retaining good players in these positions. After all what do we have to lose this season? The wooden spoon????
