I don't see that Friend offers anything more than Brunton did..
But both offer more than Kouparitsis at hooker, so I'll take either one.
I'm of the opinion that Jake could probably do with a few more weeks in NYC before gifting him a first grade spot - let him bloody well work for the privilege. But I'm not the coach.
NC
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.
I don't see the need to play Foran in this match. We have Carney, Jones and Jaubs who can all play in the halves (should Anasta be ruled out). Plus we have Friend back to play at hooker. We can go with:
6. Carney
7. Jaubs
9. Friend and Koups
6. Jones
7. Carney
9. Friend and Jaubs
Either option is better than playing a debutant, IMO
Although I like Friend as a hooker option, I think he needs more Under 20's time. Not just for fitness, but more for the fact he needs to earn his spot. Giving him a first grade spot after only one game in the 20's will give him the wrong message, that all is forgiven. Personally, I would not have Jake in first grade this year.
Maybe but I'd hope not
He has been in pretty ordinary form and others in Linnett and Tuigamala are more deserving imho. It would be silly to give him a go when his confidence is not high don't you think.
he told me he was on standby for Perret as he is a right side player and Lennet is a left side player. i'm trying to ring him to find out what is going on.
Myles said the Roosters would not make the mistake of taking North Queensland lightly, just because star Cowboys halfback Johnathan Thurston was out injured.
''Our halfback [Mitchell Pearce] is out, too,'' he said. ''The Cowboys have got some big bopper forwards, and some really skilful guys around the ruck, in Aaron Payne and Anthony Watts. It's going to be a tough game for us, but we trained well at our last session today. Braith [Anasta] joined in towards the end, so it looks like he's recovered well enough from his ankle injury to play.''
