  • finally some good injury news

good to see quite a few of our injured boys due to return over the next couple of weeks, with the likes of James Aubusson, Tom Symonds, Joseph Leilua, Steve Naughton and Sonny Tuigamala all likely to be available within the next fortnight.

awesome. id like to see naughton possibly get a go on the wing - this jones to centre rubbish is laughable. i think he is the ideal bench utility but only a makeshift centre. why we are wasting the prospect of blooding a young outside back to see if when we ditch anasta in due course and move carney to 5/8, our backline can be reshuffled therefore rendering the purchase of a dugan as surplus if say naughton or towers get a go and show they are up to it. thats my view at least im just sick of seeing us watch young players who excelled through the grades here only to be forced out by some high profile signing to go on and succeed at another club. this crop of youngsters is some of our best ever trust me. i dont want to see us stuff it up. a melbourne storm esc dynasty looms and a legal one at that if we manage things properly

good to see Tom Symonds back in full training with the boys, although a little concerning to see JWH sitting out training, hopefully nothing too serious.

This is the good injury news thread. Let me know when Koups is out for 4 weeks.

Not that I wish injury on the guy but if he was not available for 4 weeks I would be happy.

Who will fill in for Conn? He will be missed dearly. Who else is a worker type of front rower?

Conn has been playing in the backrow since JWH has come back... I reckon we'll see Takarangi back.

I had no idea there was such a thing as good injury news.

I think so too. Well at least for this weeks match. Next week, Symonds should be back

Of course there is. It just happens to be the injury report of teams like Souths, the Bronco Dogs or the team that we are about to play.

Marty Kennedy is not in the injury update on the website. Does anyone know his status?

I thought Takairangi was injured. I was told that on another thread.

I'd like to see a re-shuffled team take the field on Sunday with Daniel Conn out and a few changes to the side named on Tuesday.

                            1. Anthony Minichiello
                            18. Kane Linnett/Fine Moeakiola
                            2. Phil Graham
                            4. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
                            5. Sam Perrett
                            6. Braith Anasta (c)
                            7. Todd Carney
                            15. Jason Ryles
                            17. Sam Brunton
                            16. Jared Wearea-Hargreaves
                            11. Aiden Guerra
                            12. Mitch Aubusson
                            13. Nate Myles

                            3. Ben Jones
                            8. Lopini Paea
                            9. Nick Kouparitsis
                            10. Frank Paul-Nuuausala

I'd like to see Sam Brunton start as he has shown he can handle the hooking duties at NRL level. Nick Kouparitsis drops to the bench and comes on to play in the backrow. Jason Ryles and Jared Wearea-Hargreaves starting would definitely get us out to a good start. They played great together last weekend and would add much needed grunt. Plus IMO Lopini Paea and Frank-Paul Nuuausala are both very good IMPACT players and always play good off the bench. I would move Jones to the bench as the utility and I'm sure he can also handle the hooking duties at this level, as he showed in the All Stars game. Phil Graham moves back into the centres which would hand a debut to either Kane Linnett or Fine Moeakiola, preferably Linnett although I don't know whether he knows how to play wing. If not, then Moeakiola. Ryan Williamson plays primarily on the right side so I discounted him. If Brad Takairangi is in fact not injured, then I'd probably throw him in on the bench.

Takairangi made his return playing for Newtown on the weekend, he had been sidelined with an arm injury, not sure he has shown enough to deserve a spot in first grade, but with the injury situation at the moment it might be a case of there is no other choice until the likes of Symonds,Kennedy,Jaubs,Leilua return over the next couple of weeks.
