Long time reader, first time poster.

A mate of mine claims to have inside word that the Broncos and us have also been investigated over the past month for similar cap breaching practices to the storm.

Has anybody heard anything? I laughed him off, but he seems pretty certain of it.

According to Rothfield, all clubs are rorting the cap. He has no proof, but he knows...

I thought about this, and I know Carney is signed to a three year deal (I think?), but does anybody REALLY think we'll be able to keep Carney & Pearce both in the team at the expense of the salary cap?

They are both lining up to be the long-term future halves for NSW. Pearce was always going to be the future half-back. Always. Just a matter of time, but with Carney next to him at club, their combination will see the two of them possibly carry that into Origin long-term.

I'd love to have them both, but in 5 years time, it'd be like having Thurston & Lockyer play together at club level and the salary cap means it's just not possible?

Rothfield mentioned something like there are rumors about Souths. I bet he would like nothing more than the Chooks to get done. He will then rub it in Gould and Uncle Nicks face.

I think if you pay good dollars for Carney, Pearce, Myles and JWH, the rest of the team needs to be made up of players like maubs, and SKD. Players who are good solid 1st graders, but don't command the big $.

The Storms team was just awesome from 1-13, and 14-17 were pretty handy as well.
