lets just all thank god that they werent as bad as the vermin n eels game today, now the reffing was disgraceful. cayless got sinbinned for tackling someone normally, and the champion also got sent for a 'high' tackle that was just abover chest height

srsly we should hav had like 10 penalties for inside the 10, it was ridiculous. every time we were inside the 10 we were penalised... the refs need to get their consistency right or they will ruin the game. having the same level of refereeing against the dragons next week could be the difference between winning by 10 or losing by 50.

At least we didnt drop our bundles.

Last year wed be spewing about the decisions now cos wed have probably lost that game.

The ammount of times we imploded after a few 50/50s went against us last year led me to book into AA.

        The FlogPen .

        You know it makes sense.

I'm sure I saw at least 3 forward passes from Tongue in there too. I think one on the set before they scored their try, and the others littered throughout the game.

It wasn't a send off offence.

              Hardly.....

But I was surprised old Dave could manage a hit hard enough to brake JWH's nose in the first place......

The refs were allowing the ruck to be slowed down too much. Canberra were working really hard to slow down the ruck, and they got away with most of it. Hence why we had no real impact from dummy half, and why our outside backs constantly got caught trying to pick up and scoot off our own line

Other than that, the Minichello call was ordinary. And some of the knock on calls were arguable

It's exactly right. I had a look at our stats this morning, particularly at our yards. We usually have one of our outside backs (Perret, Minichello or SKD) who usually make lots of metres (Ie. above 150) in a game. Couldn't see that this week. It was a rare week, where our highest metre eater was actually a forward (Myles) and not one of our backs. That's reflective of the refereeing IMO

We also lost the penalty count 9-8.. Usually a team at the wrong end of a lopsided scoreline will adopt more spoiling tactics yet we still ended up on the wrong end of the count.. It was clear to me that the refs had a clear agenda to ensure the game was as close as possible and had a premeditated plan to bait some of our players ie; Ryles.. Lyons was constantly pointing at our players and speaking down to them whilst looking the other way when Canberra were offside or holding our players down in the ruck.

What I couldn't understand with the Ryles offside penalty, was why he was penalised at all!

The referee called him out as offside, immediately, Ryles put his arms up in the air, and begun retreating back towards the referee so that he wouldn't get involved in the tackle. Other Roosters players made the tackle. Ryles never got involved, because he was called out. Yet he was still penalised?

What was the point of the referee calling him out as offside, if he was going to penalise him regardless of Ryles's actions? I thought the whole point of telling a player he was offside, was to give him the chance to remove himself from the play and essentially get back into an onside position

To top it off, Ryles get's marched 10 metres (well more like 6 metres) because he dared speak up

Like I said, he was being stitched up.. Lyons is a lair, he wants to be the centre of attention.. Once the independent body is set up the refereeing is one of the first things needed to be cleaned up.
