The bottom line is, if somebody had asked me a couple of months ago would I be happy if we won 3 of our first 5 games, I would have said yes.

looks like we got another coach who cant get our team to turn up every week.
then he praised penrith in the press conference rather than being annoyed at the fact that his team simply didnt turn up to play.
will be a long 4 years if this is a reflection of him. i hope i am wrong.

I was expecting Smith to run a tighter ship than Freddy; he didn't even get angry after our loss to Canterbury. Maybe he does it all behind the scenes.
But still, I don't think it's time to start the search for The Roosters Next Coach/Victim.

I just want a team that turns up to play every week. Is that too much to ask for? If the other team is better when you turn up to play then fine. But losing because your team simply doesnt turn up every second week is getting hard to handle year after year.
I am sick of watching a team that fails to turn up every second week.

Smith has always had a team to likes to spread the ball early and we do it (sometimes more than is needed) but continually make errors, hardly uncharacteristic of teams who spread the ball early in the season. Look at Parra and when they peaked last year and watch when they peak again this year.
Teams like the Dragons whose whole game plan relies on very few errors will always go well in the start of the season but when it comes to the back end they just don't have the strike power to beat the more fluent teams.
Coming out of the first 5 rounds with 6 points is nothing to sneer at, we haven't hit form yet and we're still adjusting to a new game plan. Smith has already re-built the club off the field, I'm willing to give him more than 5 games to do it on it.

There were massive dangers signs against the Broncos last Friday and it was far from a convincing win we were just lucky to come up against such a weak side.

How about Melbourne, who has the identical plan of St George, only with more attacking moves ?
Melbourne suffocates you, then if the opportunity is there, put the points on.
Also, i think everyone needs to keep in mind the closeness of the competition that we play in. Teams are very evenly matched and any team can win on their day. Winning streaks are hard to put together.
Melbourne lost to an understrength Titans, and they are the best team in the comp. The key is not to hang our heads after a loss as they are bound to come again and again.

It is the way we have lost them..
We show no fight when a team takes the game to us..
That is CHARACTER..
When the going is tough is when you find out how good your side is..
We roll over..
I put a majority of the blame on poor on-field leadership,& lack of imposing forwards..(Our front row wouldn't scare Pymple Ladies College Firsts)..
