I don't know what the opposite of steroids are but it seems to me FPN is on it. At the match last week he looked like the incredible shrinking man. Now he gets dominated and manhandled everytime he carts the ball up. I know people will say he is more fitter but he still makes the same old mistakes with a lot less metres gained. No more a wrecking ball more a wrecking marble.

Yet he can still be seen sucking up the big ones after two hitups.

Most props do not hit their best until they have 100 plus games in first grade.
We only have 1 prop in the club that has that experience. I'm expecting Paea to play consistently well when the weather cools this year . FPN should shape up better mid next year but will be a bit inconsistent until then.
Both players have shown they have the talent and size to play first grade.
When Manly won their premiership the 3 props were 27 years of age.

FPN is ok and playing exactly the way he has been instructed to by smith.
The boppers have been used the past three games for the defense in the middle and not their running game. The backs have been doing the lion share of the running from dummy half and it's been working a treat.
They are now coming under fire from the supporters for sticking to the game plan......I don't get it??? Are they the best props in the comp? No but melbourne have proved you don't need that, you need to win possession, momentum and the ruck.

Although I agree the FPN deserves another shot... I thought he was looking really good in the first 2 rounds even with the backs doing a lot of running...
Rd 1
Paea - 5 runs, 48 metres
FPN - 10 runs, 103 metres
Ryles - 10 runs, 91 metres
Conn - 12 runs, 94 metres
Rd 2
Paea - 5 runs, 84 metres (due to that line break)
FPN - 9 runs, 79 metres
Ryles - 5 runs, 39 metres (heatstroke, only played 30 mins)
Conn - 12 runs, 89 metres
I think Paea's spot in the team should certainly be in doubt, not only is he making enough metres but he doesn't offer us any second phase play like FPN does. He's been a real disappointment over the past 2 seasons, a trip to Henson park might be the kick up the arse he needs.
I still think we should persist with Frank though, he's shown enough in the opening rounds in my opinion. I'll put Rd 3 down to him being a big fella who struggled with the heat but no excuses from here on in.

Normal transmission should be resumed this week but if not, Uncle Nick is gonna send him out to the Easter show and get him to take young kiddies for rides on his back in a hay filled enclosure for 5 bucks a throw!
