  • Mason on the Matty Johns show

    Anybody catch it ?

Paul Kent was giving him a grilling re: why he actually parted with the Roosters, brought up the rd 26 theory. Mason was nervous as hell.

Another interesting thing was that he didn't utter a bad word about the club. With his history, you'd think he'd have something to say, he had no trouble talking about the Dogs split.

Maybe the club does have something major on him ?

    Theories, theories, theories ...

and by the way Willie was looking at him, I'm sure it was mutual.

Kent should spell his name with a U ....that would fit him perfectly !

I think Kent is one of the few journalists who actually dig for a tough answer.

Why do so many hate him?

Kent was excellent - shows the benefit of not having ex players in the media interviewing their mates

I'd wouldn't expect much praise for him from the "tellucrap" haters on here - the jealousy is partly to blame for their madness

Matty Johns got better the longer the show went on. You could see he was really nervous at the start but started to settle into his rythm as things progressed. Webcke was good but Jason Stevens is just a moron who sits there laughing at himself the whole time. That interview with Kesha was atrocious and probably the worst television I have seen in a long time.

Mason's answers to Kent had "I'm lying" written all over them

His answer to the specific question re round 26 was all over the place, and at the end he tried to distance himself from the whole affair, saying he only played 20 minutes. He played 38

Here's an email I send to Kent late last year

Have enjoyed following the endless conjecture regarding Mason's future

But I have a question. If Mason has done nothing more than get involved in some relatively minor incidents and been a bad influence on younger players during what was a terrible season for the club (which resulted in an inexperienced and supposedly ill disciplined coach being sacked) then surely, with the arrival of a disciplinarian in Smith at the club, surely they'd give Smith the chance to turn him around, rather than throw the best part (if not all) of $400K down the drain?

The only conclusion is that he's done something very serious that the club knows about but cannot prove, or does not want to raise publicly. Some suggestions are that it is to do with the Round 26 match against the Cowboys.

This show is deadset some of the worst TV I have watched in years. I would even go as far to say the footy show is ahead of that dribble.

The Mason interview was good to watch, but hte rest was crap. I wouldnt subject my family to this crap ever again. What are we going to have 26 weeks of that garden twat?

Lucky it is on at a family friendly time slot, otherwise it would be gone in 2 weeks.

Mason should have ripped into Kent when asked if he thought the media scrutiny was too much. Mason did OK being the first one on the grill and probably not knowing what to expect. Others will know what to expect although I hope it is not all grilling a player. They need to talk about the issues of the game and on a topic that they don't all agree on.

TOK, maybe you should have emailed Mason instead of Kent. I liked the way Mason did not put any shit on his former club.
