  • I farking love Carney....

He is the player I have been waiting for. If he stays out of trouble off the field he will be one of the best on it. Pure class and will make a massive difference to our team this year.

I went out on a limb a couple of weeks back

He will be our best ever signing

better than Fittler, fitzy and the guys of yester year.

Even though today was such a great individual performance by him, he is still learning his position and i don't want the media to put so much "Burgess" type media hype around him. I hope he can continue to play at this high standard. I don't think Souths tested him like they would of liked too.

What's pleasing is that Carney definitely takes pressure off Mitchell and Braith in regards to playmaking duties and having that other option. You can also tell Pearce and Carney like playing with each other, its exciting to see.

Souffs had no idea where the attack was coming from, if it was not Carney, it was pearce, if no pearce it was anasta, even with runds from perrett, SKD and mini from dummy half really set our attack in good stead !

At the end of the day,i would rather spend the majority of my salary cap on classy halves rather than big name props..

I think pressure issue works both ways...Pearce and Braith are there as well...Carney will be fine, he has more pressure in his personel life to keep steady... Its so early days and Souffs were ordinary especially their kicking game..but bloody hell he was nice to watch around the field.

I was exremely happy with Carney today.
But for me the difference is 2 fold and is basically Smith
1 - We have a coach, we have a coach that can implement some structure. In fact that structure varied throughout the game and totally screwed Souffs.
2 - Is the one that surprised me the most, the team actually followed instructions.

Without Carney it may have been a close game.
                      Without Smith we lose 40-36

We are gonna miss him and Pearce during origin they better keep racking the points up.

Anasta to 5/8, Jones to half mini to fullback, were covered, we actually play Melbourne during one of the origin weeks, have a bye, hopefully the third is the sharks or raiders
