ryles was my pick today. I am content eating humble pie as i watched him school their forwards with huge work huge runs and offloads galore.

Burgess was the overrated one today.

Fumbled his way through the game and was constantly looking for a bit hit that never happened.

He will be a good buy, leadership and offloads are what he brings in spades.

Did anyone notice that our forwards did not even try to get into a physical battle with Souths. They just made their metres, secured the ball and played the ball with good speed. The backs did the rest.

Ryles, despite his limited game-time got through 21 tackles and 10 hit-ups. Some handy offloads too.

Actually, I thought he was their only one to stand up. Taylor didn't. Burgess isn't Morley but he's good.

Ive seen the replay now and I revise that and say Myles was MOM...followed by Carneyt and then Ryles/SKD.

The slim line Myles was almost unrecognisable today. But I say almost because of that giant sized forehead...He was great.

I thought it was fair debut in a well beaten side.

That's almost how I saw it with the exception that my list was Myles, Carney and SKD. Myles was tireless and his tackling technique is phenomenal. The thing that most typified Myles' attitude however was his chasing nathan merritt when merritt dropped the ball with the line in sight. Ryles did what he had to do in the seemingly short time he was on the field.

Ryles started off the bench and then came on as Souths tired. He wasn't thrown out there to bash and barge. He was thrown out there to commit defenders and then offload. The smaller quicker backs did the rest

I told you he'd turn out to be good for us...I've always rated him as a player...you don't get picked to play for your country and state at a young age for nothing...he's now more mature and can read the game better...

How good is it to finally have some players with flair and good football skills...and melon...he's probably the only prop that isn't playing like a robot but an over sized halfback looking at always putting a player through a gap...

I prefer what Smith did and save him for when the game opens up...

This side has got some serious point scoring attacking flair...

                          **** Yeah...

I would say that has a lot to do with the confidence and patience Smith has given the players. Something Ryles would've never had before under the coaching of Nathan Brown.
