  • Who would you target as our next big buy?

If we were in a position to pursue a new player, who would you pick to go after? I would like you to name one forward and one back, and give your reasons why you would love to see them in a Roosters jumper

My choices would be Cameron Smith for his outstanding workrate, leadership and all round skills and Greg Inglis because he id the most damaging runner in the competition.

Nobody. Id look at pouring money into the kids and growing our junior ranks. Build more Easts men. More Club men.

Smith and Inglis. You're a graduate of the Nick Politis school of recruitment then?

you can forget about big money signings under the Brian Smith regime, he believes in an even pay scale accross the board and no big ego's, so unless Nick wants to cause some friction with Smith we won't be seeing any big signings like yesteryear.

There was one reason we had a great run between 1996 and 2004......Brad Fittler....the question was pursue a new player.. not develop a new player.....maybe i should have put a new established player.

There was also a reason we didnt win a comp for 30 years. No Junior development. No Heart. No plan. Too much money spent on dickheads, by dickheads who demand instant gratification. Transit Lounge atitude. It also won us a spoon in 2009.

We'll be able to get him for the half-price this time, let's do it.

I'd love to have young Russel Packer from the warriors. Going to be a great player if he continues developing well.
Sam Rapira from the same mob would be a great buy, very underrated. In my opinion - in
the top 5 props in the game.

As for backs, that young Ferguson from the Sharks would be ideal - young, strong, quick.

It is crucial to purchase players to stay competitive in the NRL, however I want to see us go for the younger crop, ones that you can mould into clubmen.

you've names 2 good young players there big mike, packer and Ferguson !

Both are oozing talent, but probably out of those 2, Ferguson will be the one to shoot into the spot light this year, he scored some amazing tries last season and played some good footy, he has speed to burn and knows how to find the tryline from just about anywhere.

He can play centre or wing

Definately a great young prospect, can easily sniff out the tryline.

The best thing about his game is his attitude, being young, his defence isn't that great however he makes up for it with his enthusiasm. I'm hoping that being at the sharks won't stunt his development too much. He is a gun.
