It doesnt work like that in this situation... The Roosters will pay Mason at least another 100K to go away on top of the current 100K he has alreay "earnt"Originally posted by supermario View Posti have 2 words...................

I have heard Mason is seeking 200K fom the club though, and the payout amount will be around 150K...
So Mason gets 250K, we get rid of our problem, all in all its an ok situation, better than losing 400K

So its safe to assume the Cowboys are being less strict? Well for their sake, I hope Willie doesnt play up.The Daily Telegraph understands Mason was not impressed with behavioural clauses the Knights wanted to insert in his contract, and that tipped the scales in North Queensland's favour.
And then -
Roosters CEO Steve Noyce said the final payout figure was still to be finalised, with negotiations between him and Cowboys boss Peter Parr to continue today. "Willie has agreed to come and play for us this season, but I want to stress that it's on the proviso he receives a formal clearance from the Roosters," Parr said.
"Willie's management is working on that now."

The roosters are going to have to cough up more than the money already paid to him.....They have effectively constructively dismissed him by sidelining him. They'll pay him more than the $100K to date but save on the full payment and any headaches associated with having the big willie show at the roostersOriginally posted by supermario View Posti have 2 words...................
