I went up last year and despite the scoreline had a great time.
It's a fantastic experience going to Dairy Farmers.
The locals love a drink but are very pretty friendly and well behaved (in general).
The supporters section is at the top of the stand on the side opposite from where they run out.
As far as seats go, they are the worst in the ground.
I saw this early last year and contacted the club, advising that this was a 'bucket list' trip and hoped they could assist with decent seats for my family of three.
I advised early that I was happy to pay, I didn't need a hand out just their help in gaining good seats.
A week before we left I contacted the club and they had tickets for the game. I paid for them and they sent them to me. They were six rows from the back of the Roosters bay.
These were literally the worst seats in the house.
So long story, yes but simple lesson do not ask Roosters back office to help in any way.
      They are ph#%^ing hopeless!

Matty_C my suggestion if you are paying contact the Cowboys staff at Smile Stadium direct , you can talk to a local and pick from what is available with their assistance , they know their Stadium.

I cant see the Roosters beating the Cowboys up there in Rd 1.

I wonder how Norman is going?

It's a good time to play them early on in the season before they find their feet.
If we are switched on mentally, and I don't see why we wouldn't be, we should beat them.

I love the event that is our first game against Souths but its a long build up and an early emotionally draining game for the players.

Away and up north there won't be the same pressure on the guys and, depending how tuned up Robbo has them, they could enjoy the role of party spoiler.

It'll be a tough game. Very tough.

We've lost our last 8 penalty counts there:

                8 - 3
                9 - 3
                7 - 5
                9 - 4
                8 - 4
                8 - 2
                12 - 6
                10 - 3

                That's a combined 71 - 30.

So the refs will absolutely POUND us REGARDLESS of what we do. We have NO control over the penalty counts despite what some might think.

It's not an issue of "improving" our discipline because the refs have already decided that we're the evil empire and they're the fairy tale underdogs.

So it'll take a stunning effort to win.

I agree entirely - but I will still make the trip.

Oh I'll obviously be there too with my brother and dad given I live here. We should have a good little Roosters section by the sounds of it!

Cows usually don't start to play well until mid-season.

                        Before that they're basically Canberra.

Bit of a bump on this one guys. Flights and accom are booked - we're staying at Jupiters.....any one got any feedback?

Plus, what's the deal for getting into bars, pubs, clubs? I reckon it'll probably be a bit too warm for the jeans/trainers combo...

Can't wait for the footy to start - the cricket has been shite this year.

Great hotel in a great spot. Lunch somewhere on the strand overlooking the ocean before the game then catch a bus to the cows leagues and get the shuttle from there. The seafood buffet at Jupiter's goes alright too.

In North Qld you would be considered as overdressed if you had a pair of shoes on.
