I hope the Warriors realise that RTS is actually contracted till the end of 2016, they can want him all they want but he is here for at least the next 2yrs.

I have always believed he will leave after 2016 and play for the Auckland Blues not Warriors, I can't see him leaving the Roosters for another NRL club.

all media reports when he re-signed his last contract was it was till the end of the 2016 season, I'm wondering if there is a player option for the 2016 season which means he can walk away at the end of 2015, I'll do some searching for our press release when he re-signed to see what it said.

it seems a little strange that his name popped up as off contract all of a sudden when previously everyone thought he was here till 2016, maybe he has told the club he wants to return to N.Z after this year.

I went to the coaches forum in December and Brian Canavan announced he was one of the guys off contract end of 2015. He was questioned that night as people thought it was end of 2016 but he definitely said its only till end of 2015.

wow that's interesting because every media outlet reported it as till the end of 2016 at the time

makes it impossible for POS and Canavan to keep everyone together, no way we can do new deals for the likes of RTS/SKD/Maloney/JWH/Tupou/Fergo to keep them here for 2016 and beyond.

You would of thought given his age RTS would have been right up there with Friend/Guerra getting an extension, makes me feel a little nervous about his future at the club, not that the club doesn't want to keep him, more that he wants to go home to N.Z.

Turk mentioned several times that RTS was not happy. His comments along with this new revelation about his contract length now have me very nervous about his future at the club. I also know POS has a very high opinion of Latrell Mitchell.

well that's not great then, hopefully RTS wants to stay a Rooster, would love to know if he had an option for 2016 but declined to exercise it.

Read in the telegraph yesterday that the club has made 'informal talks' with Maloney, SKD and JWH about extending their contracts. There was no mention of either Tupou or RTS in this article.

Furthermore, Canavan said that it is often a waiting game and that they only normally focus on players they know they can fit under the cap once these players have tested their market value.

I wouldn't be surprised if RTS and especially Tupou left at seasons end. It would be puzzling if the likes of Maloney and SKD were kept ahead of RTS but, as they are easier to replace imo then someone with the natural ability of RTS.

Rts organisational ability and positioning in defence at fullback is still largely unknown for me. He's obviously a rare talent but if the transition isn't made into one of the top level fullbacks in the game then I don't think we'll enter a bidding war for a winger. Really looking forward to seeing how he develops this season. We all know he can move. Hopefully he has a decent passing game on him which was something mini lacked.

RTS has potential but he has no runs on the board,

Maloney & SKD have proven their worth many times

RTS has not set the world on fire....yet

Maloney is one of the top 3 goal kickers in the comp. A State of Origin quality 5/8th who was desperately unlucky not to win the CCM when he helped guide us to a premiership.

Last year probably lack of hunger, compounded by the shoulder injury led to indifferent form from him, but he won us a few big games towards the end of the season including the clutch play in the semi final against the Cowboys.

I'm a fan of RTS but he hasn't proven himself at Fullback just yet and maybe easier for the club to replace as he is a winger possibly fullback but we have the likes of Mitchell coming through.

Sure SoH could turn into a gun 5/8th and I'm confident he will one day but Maloney may still have a role to play in the club's eyes. However, I honestly think he would be mad not to consider the big money he can command as he is in his late 20s with a young family.

RTS is an immense talent and must be retained if at all possible.

I think number 6 suits him best..don't want him on the wing certainly.

Maybe a replacement for Jimmy...no need to shop?
