I don't recall Symonds' defence being a problem in the games he played.
And he's probably played just as many NRL games as Conn.
To me the bench named is far too one dimensional. And it leaves the team in a real hole if one of the backline is injured unless, wait for it, we use yet another second rower in the centres. Or even aim for a front rower.

I'm just really frustrated with Nick being used as a back up hooker as I know the potential he has if he gets game time in the backrow.

SKd has been training at centre. He hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire in that position so far but he is lucky that there aren't a lot of other options.
Cherro is going great and like the rest of the players he loves smith. Look for a big year from him.
Young Fine has really impressed apparently. He is still not ready for first grade, is starting his final year at waverley but looks a good prospect for the future.
Williamson will be back.

Hope young Ryan is doing some tackling practice on those wild pigs before he shoots them.
Having niavely accompanied my father on a pig shooting trip in my very early teens, I have to say that pig shooting is definitely a 'boy thing'.
I couldn't wait to get back to civilisation.
Only hope that Ryan's trip doesn't involve the alcohol intake my father and his mates imbibed, otherwise he may need a few weeks to dry out. It was bloody scary how men could get so pissed and then get behind a wheel with guns.

Anthony Cherrington has been in great form at training and forgot to mention before that he apparently seems to have his head in the right place due to some mentoring from Coach Smith, which is great to see.
Young Fine? I was told to watch out for Fine Moeakiola if that's who you are talking about. He has apparently bulked up next to the 100 kgs mark which is very impressive for a winger. There is another kid though Asipeli Fine who is turning heads at training. He is young but has been impressing the right people. He will start in SG Ball I assume but will naturally work his way into the NYC team after SG Ball is finished.
There's been a lot said about Ryan Williamson needing to harden up but I can only understand how hard it is to move to the big smoke on your own. He is a very talented player, and he maybe just needed some time to clear his head, much like Jamie Lyon. If he couldnt give 100% effort, it's a very mature thing to ask the coach to have some time to deal with the issues he is coping with. Hopefully in time he'll be back to us and ready to fulfil his potential.

I can see the comparisons between Williamson and Lyon but the big difference is that Lyon hd been in Sydney much longer, had represented at Origin and Test level.
Lyons was brought to Parra by Noel Cleal and ended up at Manly.
Hopefully Ryan is getting some mentoring from Easts people.
