How is that not match fixing? And how are we as Roosters fans supposed to love the NRL when this happens?

While-ever we have the stats against us as pointed out in this thread I think we're all entitled to whinge. Just because we choose not to lay down doesn't negate that right.
As for 'they don't seem to miss when we hit them high' bit, well I recall when JWH hit McQueen with his elbow to the neck in 13'. The refs were going to let it go but since McQueen stayed down, the refs sent it to the vidiots. Unless you highlight it to them, then they wont act against it.

Anyway, I suppose my real beef is that the refs generally seem to only ref us when we play, whereas they are more likely 'coach' other sides.

No way they wanted to look at the Burgess hit on SBW, and have the possibility of him being put on report. The decision was a bloody joke. You knew we were doomed when they had the refs training with Souths during the week. WTF? Are the NRL serious?
As for the coaches' edict that the Roosters don't lay down, well, it is time to start fighting fire with fire Robbo. I know where you are coming from, however, we must have an even playing field.
Hypothetically, if the team was on holidays in say the U.S. of A., and some crazy started shooting at you, would you lay down or stand your ground and die. I know it is a bit rich, however, how many times have you heard someone play dead and survive.
Time to stand up Robbo, no pun intended, and get with the times. The game is always changing and at the moment, if you stay down - not get up slowly - you will get a penalty. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride to get the best result for the team no matter what.
