No Telegraph apology re Gyngell

The story in the Telegraph last week about the Roosters being on Channel 9 for the first 5 rounds claimed that David Gyngell was a director at the Roosters.

A couple of people on here pointed out that whilst he was previously a director, he did step down some time ago due to the obvious conflict of interest. Someone else on here suggested that although he did step down previously, he was now back on the board.

If indeed he's not a current board member, and given that the article suggested he was giving favourable treatment to the Roosters, you'd think he would have insisted on a retraction/apology from the Telegraph, similar to the one they were forced to publish regarding Brian Smith's son...

If he feels that he needs to warrant the article, which was pandering to the whinging rants of the CEo of souffs, then he will ask for a retraction.

If he believes that the article is fluff and warrants no ackowledgement, then he will not request a retraction/apology.

Why not send him and email and find out.

Finding out anything about the Roosters board seems to be like trying to find out about the Freemasons...

The 2007 leagues club annual report listed him as having resigned from the board of the leagues club in December 2006

The website use to list the board members as recently as about 6 months ago.. I guess they removed the names from the website as Board Members did not want to be associated with the embarrassment of last season.

spot on phantom, if news employees are going to use this site for information gathering then credit the site.

That's a stretch to me.. TFK actually gives some pretty good analysis in most of his posts.. admittedly i thought some early ones were a bit scratchy but he is too coherent to be Bourbon Becky.
