I like your optimism but being two years out of the game and coming back from a serve ankle injury will take sometime to get over and fine tune his game. Young Hoppa was out of the game for the same time frame but he was keeping fit during his spell and it took him a whole season to get anywhere near the form he was in before he left.

I have always rated Blake Fergusson from when I saw him first at up up Cronulla. I rate Fergusson along with Chambers, Walker, Mansour, Matt Duffy & the spitter Jorge Taufua they all have raw potential game winning abilities but Fergusson is better than all of them.

He only played 11 games in season 2013 and zero games in 2014. So out of a possible 54 games including SOO he only played 11 games, I'd say his absence from NRL is closer to two seasons.

Doesn't matter how many games he played, he was still training and whatnot for most of the year.

He's been out of the NRL for a year, but was still playing RL prior to his injury.

It's all fickle supporter talk, everybody comes around as long as easts are doing well. The "I told you so" crowd comes out when the team is near the bottom of the ladder. Bird, GI, luke, burgess would all be welcome if the team does well.

I was half against it at first due to the fact it would cost either SKD or Mini a spot.

Now that Mini is retired I have no issue.

I'd take Bird, GI or (Sam/George) Burgess in a heartbeat, Luke too if we didn't have Jake.

When he was charged with assault, I thought he was the biggest dickhead on the planet.Times change. He has spent a year out of the papers, which is a trek when your a potential player for the tricolours. He has settled down and with the help of his partner has cleaned up his act :

and he is genuine about returning to the game. Good on him. Whether he signs with us or someone else, everyone deserves a chance to make amends. For his interests and potentially ours , he is better off playing rugby league.

I have always been a supporter of his. I rated him as a good player when he was at Cronulla & then watched him become a top player at the Raiders & SOO. What he did he should not have done but he has payed the price & like I have always said he deserved another go whether it's with the Roosters or not.
