Dan Hunt is a fat slug with slow leg speed. Really you would like to think Evans will get a crack and take his opportunity to cement a regular spot. Also hoping a few of the young back rowers TR often made 18th man develop further.

The classic story that was going round after Wayne Bennett first met Hunt after signing on as coach with St Merge. Was Bennett telling Hunt, " I thought you were bigger" lol. The poor bloke just can't bend the line.

We've only lost SBW in the forwards, and admittedly that's a huge loss , however that will give Aubs more game time, which is a good thing, and give Evans , Liu and Meehan opportunity to develop further ala Napa. Maybe one more forward like LOD for one year wouldn't be a bad option.

I wasn't impressed with either Napa or Evans. Both haven't shown they can chew up the metres to make an impact as props. Napa averaged 60m and Evans 40m. Even though Napa's defence improved considerably he and Evans don't appear to have the leg drive needed to make the hard yards. I think Meehan, while still young and raw has the potential but will need sometime to cement a spot.

I think the Evans stats are a little misleading .if my memory is correct he wasn't given plenty of game time and his limited number of carries did gain plenty of meters. Napa IMO is the toiler forward that we need to make plenty of defense and hitups without being brilliant. We just need JWH to regain his explosiveness and we will have a quality pack with excellent running backrowers in Cordner, Guerra and Aubs

OMR summed it up brilliantly.
Sonny is the only real loss in the forwards, and we should be giving our youngsters a go.
Maubs should be playing more minutes on a regular basis.

I just hope Fergueson works out, RTS comes into his own, and Pearce continues to play as we now know he can.
I'd be super confident then.
