Can't compare era's with no tackle count or pre NRL to NRL, some teams are in their infancy and pre NRL means SFA. Souths were kicked out of the modern competition and have now won 1 premiership, Easts are the best NRL team since the NRL and oldest team in RL.. The real pride of RL!

Dead right turk, I always use the cricket analogy to souffs supporters to explain this..
E g. In a test match you score 96 runs in the 1st innings then score 4 runs in the 2nd innings you don't get credited with a century.
Sorry souffs this is premiership 1.
            We will run you down.

People are forgetting that the majority of souths wins were first past the post (no gf as such) and Rl was a weekend thing where the players all worked ft jobs and played Rl purely on a saturday or sunday

And don't forget that not all seasons had grand finals. A lot of the earlier comps it was Minor Premiers were crowned the season winners. Also when players were travelling with the Australian side they were not available to stay here & play for their clubs.

Do they still count the one where the other team didn't turn up?

                    Balmain, I think it was.....

Cracking victory that one, wonder if they'll be showing that on Fox under Classic grand finals?

why bother fixating or justifying anything.

Simply I support The Roosters therefore I think they are better.

I don't think thats actually correct. I know in some cases when there was a Kangaroo tour they didn't have GF's and Minor Premiers were the premiers but I'm pretty sure in most years the Minor Premiers played the team that came 2nd and if the Minor Premiers won they were then given the tag of premiers. If the Minor Premiers lost, they then had the right to challenge the winners again and this became the Grand Final

Considering we have only won 4 comps since the 40s, alot of our comps may have been won in the same way souths did or didn't?
