Did anyone watch Sterlo last night?

I stumbled across a segment where Sterlo was talking about the key stats for each team.

They were listed in bullet point form on the screen - about 5 in total.

Anyway no's 1 & 2 were about Souffs defence, and Sterlo was reciting them.

Then it came to no. 3 which stated "Souffs have received 35 more penalties than anyone else this season" and Sterlo's response was,

    "... ... ..."

Completely ignored it and went on to point no. 4! Talk about an awkward silence.

Clearly someone behind the scenes wanted to bring attention to the remarkable amount of favours they receive from the refs. But alas Sterlo and those in the media don't want to know about it.

I couldn't believe he ignored it like the stat didn't exist. Hilarious.

If souffs lose it this sunday, it will be one of the biggest stuff ups in nrl history. They've practically had it handed to them on a plate.
    Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

If the whistle is put away then Bullduds have a good vhance at winning. Souffs have had to rely on penalties to score trys.

And don't both coaches know it!
Dessie is advocating for a free flowing game whereas Madge wants anything untoward penalised.
Isaac Luke is very good at getting penalties out of dummy-half.

I watched that and if you looked at minis face it he was smirking all the way thru those stats. I really wish someone would talk about refs stuff ups and the victomization of certain teams, and the protection of others.

35 penalties more than the next best team, that sure isn't us.
I wonder how many more than us they recieved.
This is the design of people within the NRL. There is no doubt about it.
However, it's also (to a point) due to how Souffs play.
                They play for penalties.
                They train for penalties.
Penalties are an essential aspect of Souffs getting across the advantage line, and....they are very bloody good at it.
They lie down in tackles, for the slightest tap, and hold the defender down instead of getting up to play the ball.
Isaac Luke, who is the Michael Jordan of pulling penalties won't be there this weekend, so hopefully that makes a difference.
Unfortunately the NRL has approved of this tactic by rewarding it and hence will continue to be replicated by teams of limited skill that need an advantage to compete.
Personally, this tactic disgusts me regardless of who does it. It's not rugby league. League players are suppose to be men, tough as hell, not laying down hoping for a handout.

I love the way we play.

Lastly, why should Sonny have to stay down to get a penalty when Burgess hit him with a swinging arm across the nose???
The referee saw it, but because he is a man and gets to his feet, because we don't lay down to low life cheap shot merchants, nothing happens.
Whilst this wouldn't have changed the result single handedly, it's indicative of how Souths games are refereed.

As we all have mentioned the NRL Match review committee not sighting him for that hit, shows a bias that in a national professional sporting body is nothing short of corruption.

Absolutely correct. These penalties - combined with their very successful approach to slowing down their opposition's play-the-ball - is why they are in the GF.

It will be interesting to see what happens if the penalty count is only 5-3 there way tomorrow, not 12-3.

As Mini said when he spoke to the ref : "You're reffing us and not them".

                      70 odd mate.

A disgraceful stat, and one that the NRL should be ashamed of.

I think the Dogs and Greenberg have trump carded Souths in the finals. It's no secret that 5 doggy players were not charged with any offences after being put on report or penalised during games leading up to the GF. I found it astonishing that William's head high tackle wasn't given a week or two and equally both Morris and Jackson's chicken wing tackles were overlooked, especially after guerra was given a week for the exact same tackle. I don't think the NRL are favoring Souths otherwise Luke would of been cleared for the GF, after all he is their key player. But I do think Greenberg has an influence over the MRC when it comes to his doggies. Did you see the picture of Greenberg hugging the Dogs players and Officials after the Penrith games, if that's not a conflict of interest than nothing is.

I definitely agree with you about todd greenturd helping out the bull$cumdog$hit, but I strongly disagree when you say the NRL aren't favoring $ouff$. You just have to look at what $am $quirrel burge$$ did to SBW and got away with, and what george burge$$ did to JWH with the knees into his chest and got away with, along with the huge amount of penalties they have received this year, including a 6 - 1 count in the second half against us in the prelim final that killed us!!

Even the NRL knew that there was just no way in the world they could let luke off for what he did as it would have made their agenda far too bleeding obvious, not that it isn't already to many!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                              Here's looking at you, kid.
