Sonny Bill Williams's exit from the Roosters speaks volumes for the man he has become and his growth at the club. Williams has been panned for walking out on the Bulldogs but on Friday night he made the most dignified of departures from a club that is dear to his heart. With a tear in his eye, Williams listened to speeches by his coach, Trent Robinson, skipper, Anthony Minichiello, and chairman, Nick Politis, before circling the dressing room hugging his teammates and everybody else. One of the ball boys started crying and Williams stayed with him until the tears dried up. Sonny Bill has enormous respect for all those he played with at the Bondi club and told his teammates that, but he reserved special praise for Politis. "People need to understand that Nick was the reason I came back to rugby league and I can't speak highly enough of the man that he is," he said. "League needs people like him and I hope to always stay in touch with him, no matter where I am in the world." Williams sent a text message to Nine chief executive David Gyngell apologising for the team's defeat. Expect Williams and Gyngell to do further business down the track. The pair have become firm mates, often lunching together. Williams won't be taking a break for too long. He could be playing rugby in New Zealand next week. He seems to thrive on a high workload and boxing is shaping as part of his future when he again switches codes.

I love that the man has an admiration for the club. It's great that a bloke who has played for so many organisations worldwide and is the player of his calibre, speaks so highly about our club. I can see him returning and winning another premiership with us before he retires
He is a top bloke, but I cant see him back in two years, another two years older, and out of the game again. would be a tough ask, he did a lot for the club, although not his best season, by his lofty standards, he achieved a lot off the field for the club, and passed a lot on to the players, on what it means to be a professional footballer these days, for that the club will be forever grateful. Goodluck to you Sonny, and your family, for whatever lies ahead for you, you know you will have all the Rooster family following you, and wishing you success.
He brought professionalism back to our club for which I am eternally grateful. Sonny kept the team level headed as much as possible and that showed on field. One premiership and two minor premierships in a row is a major achievement of which he played a very pivotal role. Sonny I can't thank you enough if you read this.
Now that Ive seen him for 2 years I believe what happened at the dogs was an aberration and not really who he is all about. And im so glad he came back and chose us to team up with.

Exactly my thoughts too rwbfl.
Having a legend like SBW associated with our club has many benefits i.e. ambassador role, luring sponsors, recruiting youngsters etc..
He's probably one of the most fittest athletes in the sport, who can say that he wont be as good in 2 years time? Even so, he may still want to be part of the club after footy.
