Which is probably still more than he's actually worth.

I am more worried about damage done to the club.. Footballers come and go but mud sticks.

The real damage to the Club has already been done - no point in worrying about what can't be changed. The current Mason situation is probably less damaging than others in the past 12 months.

Clubs and players have disputes all the time. Always have and always will. The Roosters will not lose much by playing it tough but fair.

sure we look foolish now, but 6 months time and it'll be forgotten. if the club are so despo to get rid of him just bite the bullet pay him out and send him packing. who cares what happens then. every club has made decisions they regret, but the only ones that will go on and on and on about this are our own fans, no one else really cares about the sydney roosters!

far less so. no one will forget the nate myles incident, no matter what story there was behind it. that will go down in rugby league folklore with hoppa and julian o'neil.

Exactly right, players come & go but behaviour like that is never forgotten & the club they were playing for at the time will always be remembered for the same reason.
