Further to his diagnosis of a Haemothorax, Jake Friend underwent a surgical procedure to locate and identify a source of bleeding late Sunday afternoon, and this was successful.

Jake remains in hospital and has shown marked improvement in the past 24 hours.

It is anticipated that Jake will be discharged within the next 48 hours.

My personal belief is that he's gone for the year. League is such a high impact sport and I can't see how the trauma leading to the Haemothorax could heal in time.

I'm not a doctor, just my opinion.

The important thing is that the surgery was a total success and he's on the road to recovery.
