the pressure we were under most halves would have crumbled under it.... when the big moment came for him to take the game into his hands he provided a PERFECT kick...and if you watch it you can see his so calm and collected..His defense was awesome and his runs were solid...his really starting to become a big game halfback yet sadly looks like he has to help win back to back premierships before people respect him

I thought he had a quiet game until the loose ball try.

Then he hit that short kick for Guerra, which was a beauty.

By and large though I don't know think you could say he was killing it out there.

Even I have to admit, the mojo is slowly coming back. Pearce had a great game.

It seems to me he is a player whose game depends 100% on attitude, focus, enthusiasm, if you know what I mean.

Maybe "having your head screwed on" sums it up.

My dad was talking to a high-level ARLC official a few weeks back. The comment made about our halfback was "finally feeling more settled than he ever has in his career, in recent months".

After bagging him out a number of times of his inability to get repeat sets and his general play this season I must say I am eating some humble pie and kudo's to him for pulling it all back together we need the Pearce firing to steer the ship around. It's all coming together.

His kick for that try was one of the best I have ever seen. The way he messed with Slater's mind and then got it through him to empty space. That's Slater we are talking about. The best fullback ever by a country mile.

Both our halves are real confidence players and they're both now on a bit of a rise.

They are also very different players Mitch works well in a structured game but really started to play what was in front of him last night whilst James is more of a natural intuitive player. When they are both on their game they really compliment each other.

On NRL 360 last night Ben Ikin mentioned Mitch has been working with Alan Bell - some guy who helped out Andrew Johns early in his career with his kicking and playmaking options. I have no idea who Alan Bell is but he has certainly had an impact on Mitch's game of late.
