  • Simon Dwyer's "Hit of the Century"

I don't think I could handle hearing this mentioned as such in the media one more time.

Now I have a lot of time for Simon Dwyer and I hope the kid gets better. He fully deserves the money raised this weekend after the NRL abandoned him.

    But...

That hit was a stone cold shoulder square to the face. It was a blatant penalty. Exactly how Steve Clarke didn't award us a penalty for it I'll never quite know.

    What's more, in today's game it'd be a 5 week suspension.

Given this why do we have to hear so many idiots in the media spew the same old shit about it being "the hit of the century"?

I suppose it's the same as our "ill discipline"... they don't have a mind of their own and just sprout whatever they've heard.

Am I seeing the hit wrong? Is it just me who saw it as a blatant and brutal high shot to the head?

No, but it was like 4years ago dude, let it go.

I'm with you Tommy. High shot. On report. 5-6 weeks. we get the penalty, convert the goal. No need for the scrum, extra time, etc, etc.
milanja, I would get over it, if they stop calling it the 'hit of the century'.

Blatant high shot, but the penalty would have given us the 2 and a win so...

Gotta cut him some slack. Poor bastard has a withered arm.

          Though you are correct.

On the weekend they showed the Scott Sattler tackle on slug byrne. I am still waiting for the match-race of the century between Scott Sattler and Usain Bolt.

Unsurprisingly, being so anti Roosters, that tackle made old coot Ray Warren's list of his top 5 greatest ever moments in League!

Farken ray Warren, it is a wonder the bloke can remember anything 10 mins old.

he has 3 goes at a players name before getting it right, i will never forget last season when he called Maloney scoring a try when it fact it was FPN

There was a hit Alex McKinnon did on Sam Moa that is very suspect....last year when he wasn't pissing into a bag.

I accept there is a institutionalised lunacy in this place but that's late and you must be high.

Johnny, I think you'd be the first person from this place to be admitted to an institution :-P

As evidenced by that very poor taste description of Alex McKinnon.

I realise it was four years ago, but it gets mentioned fairly often. Jared would be banned for a year if he pulled off a hit like that.

Your so-called rehabilitation has been set back as a result of that totally insensitive and uneccessary description of McKinnon.

The kid may be doing it tough nowdays, but that doesn't excuse people re-writing history to suit their agenda..

It was a dog shot & we should've got the penalty..

I apologise, I was having an argument here at work when I wrote that.
