  • Did Newcastle just Outshit us ?

I am very happy with the 2 points going into the bye.

I have seen us play 10 times better and lose

I hobeatly didnt think i could see a worse performance by a team this season than what we dished up in the first half.

The Naughts proved me wrong, that was a new low, No wonder tinkler refused to pay the bills.

We looked like a tired bunch, the bye has come at a great time

Hopefully no benders and no Cross

I have it on good authority Cordner will be back.

A couple of things to look forward too.

It was a poor very first half, not helped by very slippery conditions and the usual Bennett tactics of having his team stand 5m offside when defending in the opposition's half.

Excellent second half though. Very disciplined, simple and effective. As soon as the Knights had to do some work, their aging pack and lower fitness levels really showed.

Will be good when the missing third of our team gets back from Origin and injuries.

I reckon it's always hard to lift yourself when playing a side that you are expected to slaughter.

I would rather be playing bad and winning now and leave the playing good and winning for the semis

Just because the Knights are near the bottom of the table, it does not reflect on their form of late. from memory they lost close games to manly and melbourne and actually completed over 90% and outscored the tigers 4 tries to 3 and yet lost that game.

They were constantly offside which crowded our players and forced errors. In the 2nd half we adapted to what was needed to win comfortably, and that was a very positive sign. I am quite happy with our position, and very optimistic of our prospects this year knowing full well that we have the players that can win ANY game at ANY ground at ANY time.

This was so obvious at the game, but less so on the TV. It had a major effect on our first half performance and error rate.

one thing they did well, in fact, the only thing they did well was wrap up SBW. He onlly got one clean offload away all game. Their backrowers really smothered him and tackled him all night.
Lucky for us we have other options.

At the ground you could hear the contact on sbw a few times...they hit him hard and often.
