  • What's with the weather Gods ?

    Shock, horror !!!

The forecast for Saturday is once again rain. I've never experienced a year like it, re crap weather for Roosters home matches. Even the threat of showers, has seen our home crowds way down.
Almost every home match, has seen rain fall a few hours before, or during the match. On paper, the Roosters should put on a score against the lowly Knights. Despite winning 6 from the last 7, we haven't really beaten anybody.
Yes we defeated both the Dogs and the Storm, but both sides were way down on personal.
Manly at Brookvale will be a test.
Finally, it was great to see the Roosters get awarded 3 of the first 4 penalties against the Storm, but as expected with Hayne in charge, we again lost the count. He certainly is feeling guilty after last years Grand Final !!!

If all our games were played on a sunny Sunday afternoon I reckon we'd only lose 4/5 games all season.

The weather has been shit and it's probably why our F&A isn't as beefy as it could be.

We should still win comfortably on Saturday. And hopefully we're not confronted with a bog at Brookie.

Weather not supposed to be bad as first thought, only 1cm-5cm rain predicted on Saturday and Sunday now. The other thing to remember is that the Swans are playing at the SCG in the afternoon so any one getting there for the earlier game might have to fight the crowds leaving the SCG but the plus side is we may get some of the crowd to the SFS afterwards to watch the Roosters. I will be going to both games so will have to take a change of jerseys, lol.

We all know that our fans are fickle. Any threat of rain, or showers that afternoon, will affect the crowd. I predict a crowd of 12,000 on Saturday. I've been dissapointed with the numbers this year, after all we are the premiers. Back in 2003, after the previous years triumph, our crowds were fantastic.
On paper, the roosters are easily the best side in the premiership. It's a shame, our crowds don't reflect it.

Ill tell you another reason crowds are down:

Ive been to two roosters home games at allianz and never again am i going back there!

Its an absolute joke while buying tickets at the game they always rip you off. My girlfriend and i are near fulltime tafe students (4 days a week) and that limits our earnings at the moment due to only being able to work 2 days a week (we are 17)

. When arriving at the gates we have asked for two student concession tickets (which are allowed as ive searched up) for $20/$21 but they dont allow it saying 'sorry no students for this home game' and when i ask why they say 'just not available, they will be next game' so they forced us to buy the $28 ticket and in the second game a $32 because the one i wanted were 'sold out' even though only like 10k turned up and there was plenty of seats!

Thats an absolute joke and im never going to pay for such rude customer service that rip you off. Why should i? When i argued with the guy trying to get the $20 ticket they didnt listen just kept repeating myself, i even asked for the $50 family ticket as its even cheaper for me and they said 'no because there is two of you'. Wtf?

On top of those prices transport, food everything adds up and it isn't even worth it.

Compare that to ANZ to watch a game like eels vs tigers - free transport (they allow if u make excuse like couldnt pre purchase ticket etc) and $19/20 to watch a game. Look at the difference?

Thats why a bunch of teenagers/young adults never go. I have heaps of friends who never go for the very same reason. Much easier to sit at home and watch the game relaxed without dealing with all the bs!

            *rant over*

              You make some good points.

That is way poor...is this Easts fault or the SCG Trusts?

              Needs addressing.

Need to relocate to Willow Vale on the North Gold Coast guys. The weather is beautiful and I got 5 acres we can use.

It will give me an excuse to get rid of the wifes horses. 😁

Hard to argue. Don't blame you for watching at home. The roosters have lots of fans, but it's not reflected in crowd numbers.
                    Last year was the exception.
The Roosters opening 5 home matches drew an average of 26,000 which is a record for a Sydney teams first 5 home games.
