Sure he has only played tight this season but with FPN and Casty here next year and SBW leaving Robinson may well have him play right edge forward, it's not as though he will have lost the skills. Martin is a solid player, very Maubs-like and will be an excellent depth player by next year. Mariner aside, Vincent Leuluai in our 20s is a gun player who will be pushing for first grade next year or 2016. Runs it harder than anyone in the team and has nice footwork at the line. Would be nice to see Langi push a bit harder for a backrow spot cos I think he's capable. The idea of shifting Moga to the forwards is an interesting one. He looks to have lost a bit of speed but no strength. At 110kg, as long as he grows a heart in defence he could be very damaging on an edge running at opposition halves.
I too have thought about the prospect of Moga moving to the forwards Yak. We have an abundance of young backs coming through with him, milne, nene, latrell, momirovski and sheck jnr all vying for perhaps 1 or 2 spots in the next few years.

Moga is the biggest of the lot but his defense would need to improve tenfold for him to even be considered.

If the rumours of $400k a year offers for Moga are even close to being true it is all pretty irrelevant - he won't be at the Roosters if he can earn that sort of money elsewhere.

I still think they plan to play him second row when he is ready for first grade R6. He would terrorise them out there and we are short decent second rowers. Can't wait to see him come through. He has great potential to be one of the competitions most damaging forwards in the years to come.

I also agree that blake may be our only major signing next year.
Roosterfarian mun, the Ghost went out to the Newtown game to cast an eye over Wills Meehan and I cant believe no one started a thread on this kid,be afraid NRL be very afraid!Wills is a monster in the making.scored 2 trys by swatting defenders away like Godzilla and the kid hasn't even reached his full size yet,the other monster Newtown have who was impressive is Salaula Houma. If they can get him fit he is a more destructive runner than FPN will ever be.They are both in the mix for a taste of 1st grade.

These offers are getting crazier by the day $400k a year for Moga who's had 3 knee reconstructions is too risky but I suppose teams are desperate for quality outside backs where in a fortunate position we have an abundance of quality kids coming through and could afford to let him go even though I rate him.

Apparently, Proctor has re-signed with the Storm.

He did a few air miles, just to get his value up, good luck to him.

Iosia Soliola is still 28 and has been one of the best second row forwards in Super League for many years. He is head and shoulders better than the four players you just listed there and will be coming home at the end of the season. He has a number of clubs chasing him but he is very fond of our club from his time here as youngster. I know everyone is saying he'll go to Penrith because Gus and Ivan are there but he should be a target for us. He won't be as cheap as those four but will be far better value as he is of genuine first grade NRL standard.

I think it's pretty obvious that the club are set on making Meehan a front rower so there's one option down. Mariner looks a promising second rower but it's unclear just how committed he is to footy with such a promising musical career also a big part of his life.

Guerra is pretty much exclusively a lock forward now which leaves Cordner & Aubusson as the second rowers with only potentially Langi, SST & Rhyse Martin as depth and by the sounds of it Langi may not be with us next year. That 3rd option needs to be a quality player, so I can see why the club were interested in someone like Proctor even though he's not overly brilliant there's pretty limited options on the market atm.

Personally I'd like to see us sign a couple of players who are going to be good value as those depth players like Tommy Symonds, Matt Robinson, Joe Picker or Cory Patterson. But there's really not a whole lot of class available and it may just be an area we'll end up going in short handed next season. Possibly try and pick someone up from the Under 20's, I'm sure POS has an opinion on a few players in the comp.
You were going OK until you got to this point......

Are there 2 worse first graders than Joe Picker and Cory 'Emo' Patterson?

I wonder where the Storm found the cash to keep Proctor, we were blown out of the water by offers from the Raiders/Dragons, with the money Smith/Slater/Cronk and the recently re-signed Jesse Bromwich are on, there is no way the Storm could compete financially with the offers Proctor was getting.

                            Probably Brian Waldron's cupboard.

They must have close to 4m tied up in 5 players.

                            Good luck with that Melbourne.

Now we have Ferguson, we need one gun front rower , to compete our side, we might have to let a couple go, to get the right one, but we need that position shawed up.

I'm comfortable with JWH, Moa, Liu, Casty; and an ever improving young pair of Napa and Evans.

                                Not to mention Willis Meehan.

We're young at prop...but the quality is definitely there. Hopefully our experienced duo can remain fit though.
