MacDonald is another rocks and diamonds type of player, at his best he has the size/power to be a match winner but is very inconsistent, and can look a bit timid/disinterested at times.

I actually thought he was in better form late last year than early this year, but Robbo/POS have a high opinion of him hence the 3yr contract extension.

if he was to start tonight it is interesting that he has leapt ahead of both Moga/Milne in the pecking order, and maybe adds to the thought that Moga won't be with us next season.

Moga is only a handful of games back from two ACL operations.

He'll need a lot more gametime before he is ready for FG.

Toups was a nobody who couldn't get a run at Parra in their 20's.

And I think he scored a freakish hat trick in his second or third game for us.

While he has faults he looked classy from day 1.

Not writing off McDonald by any means but he came with huuuge wraps and I haven't been that impressed.

You obviously didn't see him last Saturday at Townsville. Cowboys officials spoke about him in the most glowing of terms. 263 metres gained, 15 tackles, 2 tries and an NYC record of 16 tackle busts.

whats interesting about that performance was he played at five-eight, the majority of his career in the NYC he has playing wing/fullback.

He's no five eighth, but he was just able to get his hands on the ball more often last Saturday playing in that position against a defence that couldn't handle the size and strength of McDonald and Meehan (who made 203m, scored 2 ties and made 12 tackle busts).

I like Mcdoanld & wouldn't be disappointed if true.

Watching the World Cup I thought he was the real surprise packet from the 16 Roosters players who went over to England.

Good luck to him if he does indeed get a shot. I'm tipping him to handle it.

No I didn't, like I said in the other thread I haven't seen much of him play this season.

Happy to hear he is on the improve because going on what I saw last year I was underwhelmed.

So will it be Macdonald to centres, SKD to wing, Aubs to backrow, Napa to bench, and Morts out of the side?
