why does the board have to be all money men?
Too many chiefs and not enough indians as the old saying goes.
They have it very wrong and nothing will change
any fix now is short and sweet -The current board does not have the know how to provide stability with in the club.Irrational and erratic things will continue to be.Still you will have too old farts really calling the joint one cares and the other one is ADHD and you wonder why.

Agree mate but there aren't too many ex-players who haven't been long retired that have business acumen for e.g Paul Dunn, Tony Butterfield.
Hugh McGahan was highly respected until he landed in hot water a couple of years ago for dodgy dealings.
How about....Ian Rubin who has four milk runs or Fletch who owns a cleaning
business???...........only joking but get my point.
On the other hand, Ron Coote and Kevin Junee once served on the board and did a fine job.

The core problem with the Roosters board is this;

they are far too involved with day to day operational matters that fall well outside the normal scope of a board's responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of a board relate to matters like setting strategic financial goals, evaluating the performance of the CEO, and utilising their business savvy and connections to achieve favourable outcomes for the club. Big picture stuff

The David Jones guy for example is not there because he's a league expert, and nor should he be. He's there because of his financial aptitude and because of his business savvy and his ability to set long term financial goals and oversee an organisation etc

they should never be involved in things liker player recruitment

But at the Roosters, the chairman of the board is the head honcho of everything, and he makes whatever calls he likes. He thinks he's the best judge

Sadly, he's not

Not one other club in the NRL, with the possible exception of Souths due their private ownership situation, has a chairman of the board (or owner, in souths case) involved in day to day matters like we do

It's absolutely ridiculous, and is the primary reason that this club have been such chronic underachievers for so long

TOK, after reading many of your posts i am now of the opinion that you are either that numbskull Rothfield, who i despise, or Ms Becky"lots of skeletons in her wardrobe"Wilson in disguise. In fact, you both probably share the alias just to trawl this site and get whatever info you can that may unstabilise our club.
Why do most of your negative snipets about the Roosters feature in your Sunday "gossip" pages in comparison to other teams. I don't know why you've got it in for our club? just get over it and take a hike elsewhere.
