  • Interesting read...

I know it's our old mate Smiffy, but I thought these stats were different and interesting.

Give it a read and tell us what you think...

That was interesting AND may I say good to see OUR captain getting some good brownie points?

We seem to be travelling ok considering we barely feature in any of those stats.

Brett stewart seems to be the most valuable player in the comp by those figures too.

Yes can't figure how Stewart is so 'good' on stats since he's normally on the stands. If he's that good, why isn't he in contention for SOO?

The play the ball stat with RTS was interesting I thought. I do remember not long ago someone actually posted about Roger's play the balls - something along the lines of getting the surrender call more often than not. Good eyes, whoever that was...

I'm not that concerned with the stat. Some players play for the quick play the ball and others play to beat the man. RTS plays to beat the man. Given the way he moves, he would be often off balance when he tries to step and gets caught.

Interesting to see that Perret was coming second in play the ball wins (the opposite stat). Says a lot about his stength to be able to win those play the balls even when stepping in traffic. Goes to show that different players have different approaches and roles in the team. I used to like having Perret in the team for his work in the middle (though most on here preferred a finishing winger with more speed).

Well done mini - another under-appreciated on here!

Best part was the comment at the bottom by a poster "Lote has hands like a digital clock"

                      Stats can eat a dick.

Yes. Virtually every time RTS is tackled, the refs call a surrender. I can't see it myself...

Thanks Greedy666 with tech support from Horrie Hastings.

I've always regarded Smithy as one of the best analysts and commentators on the game...loved his stint on ABC radio some years ago now..the current crop of commentators bar Sterlo are embarrassment.
