I think Robbo is facing his biggest test today. We saw Smithy go through this and fail.... Made 2010 GF and then everything went off the rails.

I am pretty sure Robbo is nothing like Smithy but is facing a similar issue in that players are going out of line. It is crucial he steps in now and lays down the law to Pearce, Cordner and any one else. Either they get themselves in order or Robbo has to make the call and drop them.

Even if we have to sacrifice a few wins. The culture of the club is more crucial than a few points in 1 season.

      No.
Nor Anasta, Smith, or anyone else.

Those involved in this only have themselves to blame.

The more I see of Pearce the more I think he could be addicted to alcohol, skylarking and wild partying...all of which have the potential to ruin his football career and life.
If this "incident" goes badly for him, he too will discover just who his real friends are. His mum and dad will be two, we'll see how many others there are.

Not sure if the club has any policies in place regarding where and when the players can drink, but if they do, it will be a tough decision to give him a one match ban considering our back up halves have injuries for the cows game.

Bondi boy out it to rest mate. Your life must be shit if every little thing goes wrong has the potential to be life ending or whatever. If Pearce has actually done wrong when it's proven later today then fire away. But right now you sound like a 90 year old retirement village window peeper.

In seasons past many people on here would have blamed B Smith for this sort of crap. It goes to show that a players performance / behaviour has more to do with their own personal commitment and responibility than the coach. In this day and age these young men need to be aware when enough is enough. They should know by now it will only end up in the media (even minor indiscretions) and end up tarnishing the image of the club.

And I'm not saying Trent can't deal with this as everything he has done so far suggests he will have a solution and come down hard on the players. It is his first big test as coach.

Pearce has already been marched off from the Cross in handcuffs and lost his Origin spot.

                Players read this site?

                  Times are different.
Nearly all of the many indiscretions of league players [not his father] in days of old never saw the light of day.

Today there are cameras everywhere, everyone has a phone camera, and the media seems intent on 'getting' players rather than protecting the game.

I thought most clubs had a 'no Kings Cross' rule these days?

If we don't have on, we should have - especially during the season.

When did he lose his origin spot??? You read the papers too much.

You sound like one of those dudes that would make assumptions over little to no evidence. You would probably accuse your boyfriend of cheating when he is home 5 minutes late from work.

Nice turnaround, thought we would not have our halves against the dogs, now looks like they wont have theirs.

How Pearce responds to this will show a lot about his character.

He is 25y.o. now and part of our leadership group. His behaviour needs to be better than this. I have no problem with the guys going out and having a good time, but given the scrutiny the guys are under (and know they are under) they have to be smarter than this.

Freddy was found on a median strip and went on to lead our club. Hopefully this is a turning point for Pearce as well.

yes, it would be good if the players were smarter enough to realize the consequences of their actions. But their actions ( those involved) are obviously not smart enough or they would not go over the line. The sad part is they don't seem to respect the position they are in with the club, their other team mates and perhaps the limited opportunities that come along to win a premiership with a gun roster including the presence of SBW for a second premiership tilt.

And to think Pearce and Cordner are part of the leadership group. Boy have they let everyone down bigtime !!

Bad signs for this season, not saying we can't turn it around but after watching us play on Friday night honestly this type of stuff doesn't surprise me.

Good post and I feel the same way Normally I dont give two hoots about what footballers do off the field But on this occasion I find myself somewhat pissed off with the two in question here. For the exact reasons you have posted above.
