  • David Nofoaluma is a Roosters fan

We could have had him if we wanted him I reckon.... And maybe we should have tried to sign him!

No divided NRL loyalties for David Nofoaluma as Wests Tigers face Sydney Roosters

David Nofoaluma was raised in Campbelltown and played his junior footy for the Magpies, but always cheered for the Chooks.
"I follow Wests Tigers and I also followed the Roosters. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon," he said, alluding to the tri-colours' premiership win last year.
"It's because my neighbour got me into footy, and the first team I watched was the Roosters and it went from there.
"I didn't actually have a hero. Everyone says Brad Fittler but I used to like it when Justin Hodges and Craig Wing were there. When Sam Perrett was playing fullback there.
"They were players I guess I looked up to."
But then, he added hastily: "At heart, I always followed the Tigers from the start."
There won't be any divided loyalties when the Tigers take on the Roosters at Allianz Stadium on Friday night. Nofoaluma has the task of marking up on Daniel Tupou, a contender for a NSW wing spot after a strong performance in the City-Country fixture.
The breakaways are superb in the air. Tupou scored two tries for City, including a spectacular leap and catch over another Origin contender, James McManus. The acrobatic mark was reminiscent of his grand final heroics when he got the better of Manly opposite David Williams.
Nofoaluma isn't shabby under the high ball either. The former Australian Schoolboys representative took what was generally hailed the try of 2013 when he made a spectacular touchdown from a Benji Marshall kick against Manly.
"How many times have I watched it? It's popped up a lot," he said. "I watched it after the game and my family told me it was awesome. I thought 'I need to see what you're talking about'.
"Then I got home and watched it on TV, I was amazed in myself, I guess."
The club has a high opinion of the 20-year-old, recently re-signing him for a further three years.

Going by this forum, chooks fans go together like cats and dogs, so I doubt a team of them would be much chop.
