Yes. Everytime R Warren calls one of our games withing 5 minutes he says 'the roosters, the most penalised team in the comp'! Yet according to 66's stats above, it is the Storm who are the most penalised. 66 do you have a list of the most penalised teams in the comp similar to what Tommy Smith posted?

There's a thread on LU saying Souffs are on track to be the first team in the games history to receive 200 penalties in a season if they get 7 in round 26? Are you sure your stats are right Tommy?

        Chook.

Yeah I revealed that stat in "the Bulldogs are grubs" thread...

After last night they've received 193 (11 on top of the 182).

And so they need only 7 more to become the only side in the NRL era (and first since 1990) to receive 200 penalties in the regular season.

            Ok mate thanks.

200 penalties in a season, no biased is there. And I like the fans excuse "we have a big forward pack and teams want to slow us down..."

As a Rooster mentioned on LU we have a big forward pack too and teams want to slow us down and we get the least amount of penalties, explain that!

            No bias my arse.

            Chook.

I think you might be a bit off with the rabbits being the first team to be awarded 200+ in a season. according to rleague.com Parramatta was awarded 214 penalties in 2007

I should have posted these stats in one post but still going through each year and still according to rleague.com Parramatta was awarded 200+ penalties in 2007 and 2000, manly 202 penalties in 1998, probably going to far back now but manly and Balmain were awarded 209 and 204 penalties respectively. not taking away the fact that nrl and the reffs favourites the rabbits.

I did say "regular season". :-)

They all involved post season matches which of course skews the stats.

I guess I didn't pick that up, feel a little stupid. but I never realised how whistle happy reffs were in the 80s

Nothing has changed from last year. The refs didn't want us to win then either and gave the Filthy Vermin every opporunity, and guess what we did it despite them, not because of them. Good overcame evil in the washup.

Come finals time the refs will put the whistle in their pockets as usual and the Filthy Vermin will struggle because they actually have to make their own yardage, rather than having the refs gift it to them.

The stats would be no different to last year (or the year before, or the year before). The NRL have been doing their best to get the Filthy Vermin their first premiership since colour tele ever since Rusty and PhacWit bought the joint. You'd think it was part of the purchase price with the leniency they've been allowed since.

Just because they may put their whistle away and not blow as many penalties in the finals, you still can not disregard their ability, if they want a team to win, that they allow tries to our opponents which should be disallowed like the 4 by St George with Archer's refereeing/linesmans decisions in the 2010 grandfinal against us.
