  • if you take Robbo at his word no changes coming/press conference up

listening to Robbo its like the fire has burnt out for him as well, very subdued press conference, basically stating the obvious, that everyone has to improve.

I doubt the fire has burnt out for Robbo but the fact is this is the first time since he's arrived at the club that he's been under any real pressure and anyone would find that a challenge. He is merely learning what an emotional merry go round coaching in the NRL can be.

Early success can be a double edged sword as it sets a very high personal standard. No one expects more from Robbo than himself I suspect.

The hard time Robbo is going through is the reality check he needs and will do him more good than harm in the long run.

Agreed with everything he said, we created enough chances tonight our execution just let us down.

I think deep down he'll be loving the challenge of getting the side back on track. I see the same calm Robbo as I saw for 27 games last year, whilst everyone is talking about knee jerk reactions and losing their shit he knows where we are and where we need to be.

It's amazing what 3 losses can do to people.

No way has Robbo lost fire. Now we see how good a coach he is.
2 really poor decisions in last 2 games shows Mini has no say in decision making or if he does, he is not a leader.

Kick at goal last week. 5th tackle option tonight after sbw no try. We only had 5 minutes to come up with a good option! Put it on Pearces shoulders.

Who can be brought in to the team besides Daniel "Morts" Mortimer?

Pearce to captain...or co-captain [making all the decisions, that way Mini would not be embarrased, as no one would have to know, they could do a huddle and decide.]
No need to tell the world what we're doing, there's way too much of that happening already.
Mini could still advise the refs as to where they're going wrong.

RTS to FB, Mini to wing.......catching bombs and catching sliding/skidding kicks along the ground training sessions for RTS.
RTS, still a rookie IMO, is lost on the wing, opposition scores tries at will.
Obviously he's not going to stay on his wing, for any number of reasons, so he must be moved.

This is probably the 'down time' we had to have. No team can be perpetually 'up'. It's too draining - remember Stuart? How soon/well this turns around, will tell us if Robinson is more than a one season wonder.

Nice post John - I respect Mini a helluva lot however his captaincy decision making is certainly under the microscope. To repeat the same mistake two weeks in a row in similar circumstances and playing conditions is questionable.Perhaps Mini is not getting enough sleep due to he and his mrs having their first child which is impacting on his judgement, same for Maloney whose mrs is expecting.I recall Ricky Ponting went into a massive form slump after his mrs had a kid. This by no means is criticism of Mini or Maloney its just that they have other things on their mind other than football which maybe not their number 1 priority for the time being.
