  • Toups......a long way to go yet.

Needs to learn how to finish. All great wingers know how to finish. He badly needs some mentoring from a retired winger. He has botched several scoring opportunities, and struggles with knowing how to use the sideline.

Did OK finishing in the Grand Final last year - got us back in the game. He's a cracker in my opinion. Conditions over the past 2 weeks haven't been good for the backs. The Roosters may not have scored much the past 2 weeks but we have only conceded 2 tries in 160 minutes of football. He's very young and I think certainly worth persevering with.
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

Maybe a season ending injury might smarten him up tige?

Said the same thing when he was tackled over the sideline.
Carried the ball in the wrong arm, and could do little else other than take the tackle. Carry the ball in the outside arm, and maybe (just maybe ?) could've fended Reynolds off long enough to get to the line.
Hope he learns from that !

He's a keeper but he should have come back in field on Friday at not gone for the corner.

He's a great prospect for the future, but as with all prospects needs work. He'll be a much better player once he builds up his upper body strength a la Inglis.

He should be watching old man Richards from the Tigers. Rarely messes up a try.

He also gets pushed back a bit, but plenty of potential to be a great.

Agreed, lacks a bit of confidence as well. Usually he destroys teams when he gets an early try or makes a good run, he needs to go into the match with confidence rather then get it from the match.

Great call Hawkeye regarding Toups using a fend. With his long arms he could have a very effective fend and as you say could have used it against reynolds to score in the corner, just like that parra winger Radradra who possess a terrific fend that has allowed him to score many tries.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                          Here's looking at you, kid.

If it was Merrit we would've scored and won the premiership last year.

Same goes for Richards' teammate on the other wing David Nofoulouma. Possesses good strength, speed and lovely footwork to get over the line. I wonder how pissed off boy wonder Marika feels atm.
