At 8-8 we get a penalty in kicking range and we go for the try. I was annoyed at the time and it proved a bad decision. In a close game on a wet surface and our attack struggling it was a lame brain decision not to mention that after fighting back from 0-8 it would have landed a psychological blow on the dogs for us to hit the lead. What made it even more stupid was that Pearce went for the fg a few minutes later. I can't remember if Pearce has ever been succesfull with a fg, the one last night was a terrible miss from almost in front and no pressure. The team's d is great but the attack was dreadfull, I dare say with JWH in the side we probably win but if we'd taken the two when we had the chance we would've won anyway.

I wonder if Pearce and Maloney regularly practice fg's at training? judging by their efforts it doesn't look like it. The other thing that shits me is their lack of ability in kicks to the ingoal for a dropout, I've only seen one this year and that was Morts effort against Brisbane. The bomb kicking was atrocious last night as well. So many things to get right.

My only concern was the decision to go for a field goal in the same passage of play. It demonstrated a lack of leadership.

Our inability to not force line dropouts last year may not have hurt us, but this year is a whole new ball game and this inability is killing us! Especially because if you kick it dead the opposition get a zero tackle, along with us always (only exception being against parra) being on the wrong end of possession. Getting the repeat sets will take pressure off us and put it onto our opposition and give us more opportunities to score tries which has been a real problem for us the past few weeks! Our kicks over to Toups have also been crap. No excuse for any of this from the NSW state of origin halves!
Not to take the 2 points from that penalty was probably the dumbest decision I have ever seen and cost us the game! The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Here's looking at you, kid.

Robbo can blame himself all he wants, but he made the right decision and sent the message down to take the two. He's just covering for a bit of poor captaincy from Mini who has obviously learnt the lesson that you always take the two in that situation, especially on a wet night where not many points had been scored.

Whoever is responsible for not deciding to attempt to get the two points should be made wear a dunce's hat around Bondi for the next week...along with a sandwich board explaining why.
And no talking to anyone or signing autographs.
