  • Getting out of trouble out of our own end

There seems to be a lot of teams targeting us and trapping us on our side of the field as we hit the ball up. They know our backs often take the ball up early in the tackle count, and opposition defences have been coming up in numbers quickly and hit us hard. We're spending a lot of time in our own half and it's sapping. We don't seem to have an answer to it at the moment.

We need 13 islander boys that can all kick 50/20's.

every team now tries to drive mini back in goal? when is it time for the ref to call held?
might be timely for mini to have an injury as a result of that and a complaint about it?

jokes aside, its true. Mini has been dragged back numerous times, as has tupou. Its one out stuff. We look cramped, we don't have that space and freedom for our plays and magic to work. Manly and the dogs have used an very effective tactic against us. Rush up in numbers and just smash us. Robbo has no answer to this as of now.

Well I don't know about you guys, but I think our team is seriously struggling with this at the moment. It's a big reason why we're 2 from 5. We're just too one-dimensional at the moment and a lot of our running has been like sending a lamb to the wolves

We have very little confidence with the ball in hand. We need to get our offloads back into play - a little more predictability. We are too predictable at the moment

The problem is that mini is getting driven back at all, but yes we've been getting stuck in our half all year, our forwards need to find a way to make quick metres and get a fast play of the ball. When this happens, with dummy half runs from jennings and friend, we roll up field like nothing else
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

I'm wondering if fitness is currently an issue. We saw it for probably about 20 minutes all up tonight where we actually had any sort of roll on at all. When it happened, it was great to watch. Other from that, it was us getting smashed and dragged back in quite a few hit ups. Our forwards haven't made a consistent enough effort through the 80 minutes

All we are doing is hitting it up through the middle. I don't know why they dont try to put it through the hands like they did at the end of the second half when maloney threw the cut out ball to tupou

I wish we would bomb less...but if it must be used at least give us a play at it...all tonights were too deep.

The key problem, imo, is our backs always bringing it up. There's a time and place, imo. Our forwards really need to step up and take the ball up hard in times of trouble.

Some of you will say because JWH wasnt there, but reality is this has been the problem all season. Not enough fire in the belly of some of these forwards this year. SBW needed to lift more tonight - he went missing somewhat in the 2nd half

I think Sonny Bill's head is in Ra Ra Land at the moment.
