  • Were Parra that bad?

Obviously we ran away with the game in the second half, but I thought it was touch and go at half time.

Parra were hitting hard and their back three were always threatening. Hoppa looked classy, and that 5/8th was putting up some lovely attacking kicks behind our line. If Hayne had scored that try and we hadn't opened as strongly in the third quarter, who knows.

56 to 4 is clearly a trouncing, but I don't think they'll have as bad a season as last year.

Some times I tend to think its the effect of Moa and JWH leaving the field ..those blokes do damage and every time they are off together ..teams seem to come back ...Robbo is not stupid he has can probably se that the young blokes like Nappa and Evans have to learn to step it up .All which will come in handy by semis time.

i think your right, parra just cant seem to maintain rthe push or consolidate their gains, it all comes down to turning breaks into points something the english ruf team did to win the world cup some time ago any venture into an opponents twenty five either saw a try, a penalty goal or a johnny wilkinson drop goal! tactics that worked! we tend to score tries other teams play the ref for a penalty goal!

The other thing last two games the defense focus has been on Maloney .its working too but w have talent across the park to nullify that.

If Parramatta are going to maintain that style, they will cause some upsets when they are hot, but they will get flogged on occassions when the passes don't stick.

That try that they almost scored just before half time would've been amazing

I guess they are playing to their strengths in that regard, but I didn't expect that style of play from a Brad Arthur coached team.

I was very impressed with their back 3.

At times their attack looked dangerous and caused some trouble ......but their defence at times was really woeful.

They tore our left hand side defence apart on numerous occasions in the first half but yes they really were that bad in the second half. We dominated the first 10 or so minutes and they threw in the towel after that.

Don't forget they kicked the ball out on the full twice in the first 15 mins of the second half.

Not sure what my point is, other than that I'm surprised there hasn't been much mention of those critical advantages we were handed.

Yep, they were pretty crap. They will win more games than they won last year but this years comp looks a lot like last year - half a dozen strong teams and a lot of dross.

We are in the strong teams and they are in the dross.

They exposed the left with those chip kicks. While I'm in favor of the Mini/RTS swap, it needs to be more permanent throughout the game as Roger was out of position for the Semi Radradra try and if more of those kicks had come off, Parra would have scored more and had more of the ball.

I'll be very interested to see the odds for next week's re-match.

Might be worthwhile putting an indolent hundred on the Eels. Win-win.

We flog Parra by 50 and then they beat the Broncos and we lose to the dogs. Work that out.

As I said, I don't think they're a bad team. They're going to jag some wins this season. That winger they have is very hard to contain.

As a side note, I also feel that rugby league needs Parra to be strong. It's a disaster strategically that they've been so shite for so long.
