  • James Tedesco

didn't realise that James Tedesco was off contract this season, we could do worse than use some of the freed up cash from SBW's departure to sign James Tedesco as a winger/backup fullback for 2015, the kid has something special about him.

He was also a Roosters fan growing up

He is an out and out fullback. Signing him would mean either him or RTS misses out on the no 1 jersey.

Good speculation, and I would love to have him if we had no other fullback, but no thanks for now.

Dare I say it but his running style and play reminds me of a young Mini.

Surely TheNewmans would be against such a move???

        You know it makes sense.

obviously it would be a very hard sell to get Tedesco here knowing he was going to be a winger rather than first choice fullback, but who knows maybe he wants to go to a team with a chance of winning something.

there is no clear cut replacement for that wing spot in 2015, Moga/Milne are both injured and will miss a decent chunk of 2014 and Reuben/MacDonald are way too raw and inconsistent to trust them in first grade.

does anyone know if SKD's contract expires this year or next, I thought he signed a 4yr deal in 2010 that would expire at the end of 2014.

SKD signed at the start of 2011 so he's signed till the end of next year.

The players off contract this year are:

Kane Evans, Saulala Houma, Kurt Kara, Heath L'Estrange, Samisoni Langi, Isaac Liu, Anthony Minichiello, Sam Moa, Tautau Moga, Curtis Naughton, Paul Rokolati, Kem Seru, Jack Siejka

Gotta have Evans, Langi, Moa and Moga as priority

unfortunately I don't know where Langi fits into the Roosters first grade picture, seems that there are too many people ahead of him in the halves/backrow/centre, you would think that some other club would pay more the give him a shot in first grade.

Evans/Moa are definitely keepers, the problem is can we match the money some other teams may offer them, also limited first grade opportunities could hurt us trying to keep Evans.

in regards Moga, it is hard to evaluate his situation till he starts stringing games together, there is no doubt about his natural talent but if he can't stay on the field it will be hard to give him a new contract.

Could this not be the JT your father in law mentioned to you kegs?

Killed it at centre in the world cup but he won't give up his fullback spot.

I would hope for the money freed up from SBW to keep hold of our team for the next few years. this team minus SBW can be a top 4 team for years

Were well of in that area . So I would see it as a waste of Salary cap space. He spends most of the time on the sideline anyrate.

I think he looks more like a young Matt Seers then a young mini

yes i think its very much time for moga to deliver consistantly very soon? dont forget we can even play hastings as back up fullback?

Hard to deliver when you're injured.

He's coming off back to back knee recons so give him a chance.

Tedesco looked very impressive today. I understand that the Bulldogs have their eyes on him and have plenty of room under the cap to sign him.

If he was interested in coming to the Roosters, I wouldn't say no. I reckon Roger could be a damn good centre or five-eighth.
