  • 32-15

I'm probably sounding like a broken record here, but the combined penalty count against Souffs over the last three games is Souffs 32 - 15 Roosters.

    32-15!

    32!!!!! --- 15!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is it that heading into last nights game it was obvious that we had ZERO chance of winning the penalty count? We got a 4 penalty burst within 3 minutes (for a total of 1 piggy back) but apart from that we only got two the rest of the game - one for a double movement and one for a dodgy play the ball.

Souffs on the other hand get piggy back after piggy back.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but ****, THIRTY TWO to a paltry 15.

That carnt Cuminbum doesn't even try to hide his agenda from where I'm sitting.

There were 2 or maybe 3 dubious calls.

Other than that... we did it to ourselves. We gave away those penalties. There were heaps of dumb penalties.

Look... we know that we are the MOST penalised team and receive the LEAST penalties our way. Thats just what happens, every game.

So just like last year, when Robbo recognised this, we need to train hard and get the Bondi Wall back. I don't care how many penalties we give away.

Keegan needs to get the boys back into their regimes weekly, Robbo needs to get the defensive structures back into place and JT needs to work with Jimmy and Pearce to get the attack sorted.... and all this needs to be done knowing we will be making more tackles every game, we will be more tired and we will get the arse end of the whistle.

This is nothing new... its exactly what happened in 2013, exactly what happens every year. In Robbo we trust... Trust him.

The Filthy Vermin will continue to get the rub of the green from the officials until they win the ultimate prize - a GF. I'm sure it's written in the NRL constitution. Thankfully, when it counts, not even the refs can get them over the line as they are their own worst enemy.

There is nothing that can be done about the gifts the Vermin get from the officials - it happens week after week. If you watch their games you'll find that every opposition gets the raw end of of the deal.

Been happening for years and will continue to happen, no matter who is referees boss. From Finch, to Harrigan, to Anderson, to Archer. The people in charge change but the officials love of the Vermin remains the same.

Makes you wonder that if we kept the same players but switched jerseys what would happen ?? not that i'd ever condone a Roosters wearing a scabbitohs jersey.

what is really annoying is the Teo hit put on report no penalty and now today Walker charged with tripping and once again no penalty, how can the refs continue to get away with this crap.

I saw the Walker trip, but assumed that I was just seeing things.

No surprise the refs missed it.

We are refereed differently to everyone else. I'm certain of this.

Spot on NC, nothing ever f***ing changes unfortunately, it is inevitable for some reason just like death and taxes!!
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                Here's looking at you, kid.

                    lol backwards

Can you answer this seriously: do you think we are over scrutinised in the ruck compared to Souffs?

                      Absofarkinloutely.

While we probably deserve a lot of the penalties we give away far too often I see the opposition repeatedly get away with the same or worse offences when they play us.

Reffs are human too, I know that's shocking but strangely it's correct, and I believe the media frenzy surrounding our club gets to their psyche and affects their judgement often. Like the fans and media.

It's the only way to explain the massive discrepancy when it comes to our penalties over the last 10-15 years. Thru all the different coaches and players you'd have to think illdiscipline is something we'd have eradicated. But the stats prove otherwise.

I still blame MLK, grassy knoll, sniper.

I heard a rumour MLK isn't making friends in Brissy ... no idea why. And we're short on props. Maybe we'll get your best mate back!!

What disturbs me most is how the games two biggest grubs - Sam Burgess and Issac Luke - get away with absolute murder in the ruck.

And then Luke will flop around like a fish out of water, get a penalty and then laugh at our players because his acting worked.

Here's my favourite ... Maloney was penalised for not getting his hand out of the play the ball. This is because the Souffs merkin was holding his arm in there.

But .. if Maloney pulls his arm out the Souffs merkin would have dropped the ball and he would have been penalised for reefing it out.

                        Can't win either way!!

                          - The trip on SBW preventing him from scoring (not a penalty).
                          - Tackles on Tupou and Jennings when they didn't have the ball... the tackle on Tupou prevented a certain try. No penalty!
                          - Knock-on from Souffs randomly got called a Roosters knock-on. Set of 6 on our line leading to a try rather than a restart with us out of gaol.
                          - Knock-on called against Maloney when we had 6 in front of the posts. Free get out of gaol card.
                          - Souffs do a shoulder charge... no penalty.

                          ---

End of the day we lost if for ourselves but those 5 above aren't dubious. They are ABSOLUTE BAT $HIT calls.

                          Add the points up...
                          28-8...
                          - Tupou awarded an 8 point try and Souffs without a half for 10 minutes. Score becomes 10-28. I'd say possibly more, but can't accurately predict...
                          - SBW... 8 point try because he was tripped when he was through for sure. Another 10 in the bin... Souffs without both halves. 18-28.
                          - Try under the posts because Maloney DIDN'T knock-on... 24-28.
                          - Souffs knock-on called correctly, no try. 24-22... Roosters win.

Add to that, all but 1 of Souffs tries were scored in the last 10. If we were up 24-6 with 10 to go, the momentum would have been totally different.

                          ---

Yes Souffs deserved to win... yes we played poorly. But I think the penalties were significant.

Solution? Learn to deal with it and move on... won't win by crying about it...

Like Mozz and Crock were treated as maniacs when they played for us but became misunderstood competitive top blokes when they left.

We just draw the heat, as a club.

The media, the officials, the fans they all take pleasure in seeing us in pain.

I'm so used to it now I don't even bother worrying about it.

Coqq envy. We hail from the best area in the country. They all want in but can't admit it.

The "latte" call was the best. Everyone drinks good coffee. Fark me even at Penwiff they sell latte. Who goes out and buys an instant???

When they "hate" us they "rate" us. I have grown to love it.

And no to MLK I couldn't stand the meltdown this joint would go into. I'd fear for some posters sanity.

And of course it's easier to blame him for the adverse penalty counts while he's at The Wankos.
