Those fans calling for Mini's head, and Napa &Co to be dropped! Have you lost your mind? It was the 1st game of the season, and unless you have very short memories, we lost the corresponding game last year just as convincingly!

We were not great, and did not like a champion team. I agree, however the vermins had put too much emphasis on beating us, and turned up with great energy. At the ground they showed Rd 26 from last year ( minus the Roosters tries) and put on the big screen " THE ROOSTERS STOLE THE MINOR PREMIERSHIP" then" IT'S TIME FOR REVENGE". This is how badly they wanted it, and whilst the refereeing was not of 1st grade standard, and we shot ourselves in the foot on half a dozen occasions, we still held the to 2 tries for 75 minutes, despite a mountain of possession and penalties and drop outs.

The vermins would have put 40 on any other team by the 60 minutes mark. We defended stoutly, but the extra workload eventually took its toll, and may God help the eels next week. I am not ready to slit my wrists yet, and remember that those players you are bagging today are the same ones ( minus LOD) that had given multiple orgasms last year culminating in the biggest orgasm ever on GF day. A little loyalty and faith is called for here.

Mini was a big target because if anything he looks a bit slimmer (and a LOT fitter).

To get quick ball we're putting single men into tackles, whereas they were putting multiple Burgess brothers in tere to tackle Mini. The result? He was driven back in-goal a few times.

25% Mini's fault and 75% Robbo's fault IMO. That was our tactic for the game and it failed. Most likely needs tweaking!

A lot of our players got driven back while using this tactic. Sack them all? Sometimes you need to take a hit in order to get better. Souffs played their usually heavy-handed game. We have less weight (did last year) so can't win a game of muscle with them (or with a lotta teams)!!

We're a smaller, more mobile team that relies on smart plays/quick ball. Robbo and JT had a lot of new tactics for outsmarting teams last year. This is one that they may or may not try using all season... my guess is they'll do some re-thinking before trying it against Moimoi and co.

Same thing happened to us last year with the refs, they've never been our mates.

If we whinge then we'll get smacked. The only real choice is to try harder and pull our heads in so that we are the better team by far. Otherwise we will lose...

Mini was poor - by his own standards. The same standards he set last year. Based on that he was poor. But it is only the first game, and he needs to be given time to make it back. If his form continues like this or gets worse then and only then does a change warrant it.

SKD another one who was also poor. But once again, towards the end of last year he really started to play well and showed everyone what he can do. So no excuse why he cant get back to that. Personally, I dont want another excuse 15 rounds in saying he had a broken rib, hip, bone, etc. and thats why he was poor at the start of the season. If your injured, dont play till your fit. Your taking up a spot that could be given to a youngster to build their experience. But give him time as well and see how his form is.

JWH, was good but bad as well at times. I think the only thing holding him back is his extra weight. He needs to lose it and go back to what he was last year. Its affecting his fitness and therefore making him lazy.

Maloney, continues to show his defence is a weak link. Hate to say this but other teams are going to continue to send big boys his way. He needs Aubbo or Guerra to be his bodyguard.

All in all it was a bad game by us, but it was only Round 1. It gives the guys a wake up call to work hard. If their form continues then we have plenty of talented youngsters already knocking on the door for an opportunity. Evans, Moga, Liu, Casty, etc are all not far off from making the team. Its upto the guys in the starting 17 if they want to keep their spot or not.

a profession foul is just that. it is no different to a shoulder charge or high tackle. the rules say 10 in the bin for a professional foul. regardless of a try or not. if it was a shoulder charge which knock out toupo. would that be a send off or just a gggeeeeeez that would hurt,,,,keep playing.
